He did push excessively and was warned on several occasions. Great performance by Lamont, well deserved

 

Khan has been getting overlky arragont as of late, he got what was coming in my view, a deserved but close loss!

 

I agree with you on Lamont's performance, he looks like a fantastic addition to the sport's top level. I also don't think the referee complaints have too much substance. The pushes were obvious and too frequent, Khan should have had a tactic to work with on the inside.

However, Khan didn't underestimate anyone. He turned up in great shape, fought well and could easily have got the decision.

And who the hell had Khan in their pound for pound top 10? I'm not talking forum posters I'm talking genuine analytics with a qualified opinion. Who? He was definitely on the verge, last night sets him back a bit but not by much. By underestimating Khan you take some gleam of a very good performance from Lamont Peterson.

I actually did.
I predicted that if Peterson turned boxer/brawler in this fight, he'd win, and he did.
Peterson came in and snatched that belt off of the British Hype, sending him and David Haye back to the UK with their pants sagging around they knees, beltless.

It was just a great fight overall. I can't remember the last time a fight had me so excited. Credit to both guys for giving us fans all they had.
The fight was so close, it could never be a robbery. Either guy could have eeked it, or a draw would have been fine too. The ref did warn for pushing repeatedly, rather it was warranted or not that is not up for me to decide, but Khan was warned.
Likely if Khan gets focused and now that he has been knocked off his dream cloud, he should win a rematch, he's a more talented fighter, but in my opinion got ahead of himself, time to put the twitter down and focus on whats in front of him.
Great fight, can't wait for the rematch.

I had it 115-111 to Peterson because of the two point deductions. Even without the point deductions Peterson still won a close decision imo.

 

Khan got ****ed.....anyone who doesn't see that, should take up watching badminton.:roll:

 

Lamont fought like a man possessed

 

The right decision. Without the points deducted Khan won the fight but as people have sussed he can't fight inside against a stronger opponent so he broke the rules by pushing and levering Peterson's head and rightly got punished. As a Brit who has watched almost all of Khan's televised fights i'm not surprised that he is crying foul. The man is arrogant, thinks he is a world beater and shows no dignity in defeat. The post fight statement from him and his gang of greedy vultures was entirely predictable. Shame as he's a very capable fighter but Peterson (just) deserved the win.

 

Actually a few people said Lamont had a decent chance for the upset.

 

Go enjoy your badminton then because most people agree it was a close fight.
