American boxing has little to no grassroots. Every great boxing nation is based on that and the American nation is ****ed in that regard. They are doing average at best, in relation to their traditional standing in professional boxing.

We need to see some solid foundations in the US. It simply doesn't exist.

Why single out African Americans when the question was about American fighters? Are American's of African decent different from those of none African heritage? Race and Class is socially constructed, don't fall into that trap. A fighter is a fighter and color or where you come from has nothing to do with it. Skills pay the bills and some have it and other don't but it has nothing to do with the color of ones skin.

 

American boxing isnt dead because the fighters there get given more opportunities and many more home fights, which helps to protect them.
Often (not all) the fighters have a very easy ride to the top. Just look at HWs D Wilder who hasnt fought anyone compared to T Fury, R Helenius and D Chisora who have all had fewer fights but in higher company.
Ward is already a belt holder so beating Froch wont make 12, it would just be unified.
The point you miss is that America is not dominant overall now.
At HW all of the top HWs are European. Dont try and go on about E Chambers who couldnt live in the top European class.
At CW, Cunningham only got thought of as #1 when European Haye moved up, then Cunningham got owned by Adamek before he moved up, so Cunningham was only rated top man when other Europeans moved up and even then he only split a couple of close fights with Wlod. Cunningham has now been beaten.
At SMW at this time the WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA Regular champ and WBA INT champ are all European and many rate European Bute as #1.
MW, most would call Martinez the #1 who isnt American and then almost all of the other top names are European.

As for the names you have used - Kirkland has been exposed, Dawson lost to Pascal who lost his 0 to Froch, Quillin is another who hasnt done a great deal for so many fights. The Dirrell brothers atsch, Andres best win is probably ganov and the other hasnt got that
