That's why I have never liked him. I only became a 'fan' after Maidana. But I wasn't overly upset last night that's for sure

To be fair to Khan.. He did just lose by 1 point in a close fight. The ref also took 2 points away from him and that affected the outcome of the fight!

Now Khan just learned that when you spit in the air, it always comes down on your face. Instead of looking past Peterson, saying to his friend Pacquiao to retire so he can get the match with Mayweather, he should concentrate on his own things and shutting up.

I think Khan doesn't come across as sincere. I personally find him a bit lacking in character, but that said, he's a young man, he can come again. After his first humbling he made improvements as a fighter, but I think he lost a lot of fans by not being able to congratulate Lamont on his performance.

Khan is happy and successful aslong as he is getting his own way, both in the ring, and out of it. First two rounds of last nights fight he was getting his own way. But what Lamont showed was how to deal with adversity, how to adapt and how to find a way. Khan has had a pretty cushy ride since the Olympics and I think he has forgotten how to deal with everything not being in his favour.

Alot of Brits dont like him as he seemed to have EVERYTHING handed to him on a silver platter once he came back with a silver at the olympics.

He had a deal with BBC (was it BBC or ITV I can't remember now?) it was a major UK TV station and he fought alot of hand picked opponents who weren't THAT good and he often had trouble with them getting put down a few times without giving any credit to any of them

There may well be alot of people who dont like him due to his race, he does come from Britain after all so lets not be naive but again he has brought some of it on himself.

Either way he is a good boxer it turns out he may not be great like he told us all.

    Why such contempt for Khan?

Khan showed a great deal of courage in his recent choice of opposition, and he also overcame a significant amount of adversity. Who amongst you says much anymore about his chin or questions his fortitude?

Going to DC, the neighborhood your opponent grew up in, coming from a level that no man in his position today could even guarentee a penny from the surrounding community.

The determination this man had was that of few people have had to get to that level and sustain it as one would walk through fire.

And even in these conditions, along with a little bit too much ref intervention, Khan still looked to make the fight at least a draw.

Khan is on an economic level what the sports need. Physically, I can only pray that the fighters are protected.

I hope they both have a great recovery.

He didn't come off that well in the post fight interview but you could understand it.

Ref docked 2 points, one in the last round for pushing. I've never known point deductions for pushing. The ref was quite a **** and all night was on khans case. So I could see how he was bitter. Lamont was pure class post fight which just made khan look wprse.

Also, regarding most Brits hating khan, most of the severe hatred and Ill mannered comments come from racist ****heads. Not boxing fans. There are good boxing fans who dislike khan for the reasons mentioned above, but most of those Brits who put comments on YouTube are in the same boat as the "tram lady" or prejudice khan for his religion.

Khan said some dumb things post-fight, but I try not to judge athletes for what they say in the immediate aftermath of competition.

He does seem a little spoiled to me, but it's no different from many American athletes. I'm numb to it at this point.

Mostly, I hate that an inexperienced referee failed to properly negotiate the fight — he should have stopped Khan's pushing early but also given him proper warning about taking points — and that the outcome was controversial.

But if the net result is a rematch of a good scrap, that's a positive outcome. I'm definitely very happy for Peterson.

Khan has claimed the UK is racist and if he was white he would be a "superstar."

    Complete non-sense.

I used to hate Khan for his arrogance when he hadn't even acheived anything in the sport but then he went and fought everyone he could and really earned my respect with some great performances. I wanted him to win last night but then when he was doing that interview I was like "Yeah that's the Khan I used to hate".

All Brits don't hate Khan, but some do and i don't think it's racial. It's more to do with him being perceived as arrogant and cocky.
Personally i have no problem with him,i mean shock, horror, a boxer coming over as being cocky but he could have shown a bit more class and humility after the fight.
