quit against Dawson, Echols, and Allen. Had no intention of actually fighting against Calzaghe. Talked **** about Roy Jones, James Toney for 5 years but had no actual intention of fighting them.

Good post. He wanted timeout against Echoles, Calzaghe, Jones Jnr, couldnt continue against R Allen or Dawson and is now looking past Dawson.
Hopkins is good when it is going his way but when its not, its a different story

If Hopkins had not heart, or little heart, he could/would have retired after losing to Taylor.

If Hopkins had been a *****, he would have ran away from the sport to participate in some dance competition and sniff coke and smoke weed.

Hopkins got more brain than heart.

He's had some unquestionably gutty performances, but the number of fights in which he's wanted (and occasionally, gotten) out of just can't be ignored or excused.

 

Bernard simply plays and jokes with all of you. Something like throwing a flag to the floor, make dozens of Ricans run after him, get Tito mad and wins based on cool, cold blooded performance in front of thousands in MSG. Nard is getting old but he has class and he is all a boxing specimen so quit that small talk about heart cause he would bite every single nose of yours off.

 

If fighting young champion at 46 doesn't prove that then what? He doesn't need to prove anything still dedicates himself to the sport and has some great success.

Most of you are probably basing your opinions on Dawson fight but hey, he's a boxer not wrestler and doesn't need to know how to fall after a takedown. And why would he fight if something was hurting him after other guy fouled him?

He showed heart vs mercado and pascal, I say about an 8, dude has heart.

 

8.5/10 , and in his younger days probably even higher.
I think at his current age though his Brain has a higher rating than his Heart.

He just came of 2 fights against a young lion in his own back yard, even getting dropped twice in the first fight.
How anyone questions his heart is beyond me.

 

Typical G heart , when beating up smaller men in Oscar and Felix , he wants to post his **** on youtube.

Comes up against men he should have always fought in Calzaghe and Dawson , gets his ass tapped and then pulls all manner of tricks.
