Thoughts on Seth Mitchell

What makes you so sure? The only time Chauncy fought a guy with semi-decent power, he got stopped.

 

He looked ****ing awesome last night. I really like the kid, he might just be my favorite up-and-comer in boxing at the moment. I want to see him in there with a guy like Dominic Guinn next, a guy who has some boxing skill and great durability while at the same time not being a huge and dangerous puncher. If Seth could blow him up, then maybe Monte Barrett and after that throw him in with the top 10 guys.

 

Seth's win over Timur is a better than on Welliver have on his record.

Who the hell has Wellvier ever beat?

 

Love to see Mitchell V Perez.
Perez has better boxing fundamentals so would expect him to take this currently. Both have good power

Also isn't it great to see another Heavyweight take it seriously with his training with a 6 pack and no fat ,like the Klits, Haye etc.. Unlike most of the other American Heavies

 

Totally, Thompson, Chambers and Arreola could learn something from Mitchell .

 

Very promising. He needs to concentrate on his defense now more than anything else.

 

He has heavy hands and is aggressive, two things that can carry him far in the heavyweight division. However, he has not shown me that he has the size or ability yet to cause the Klitschkos problems.

 

I'd like to see Mitchell fight Chisora on the Peterson-Khan II undercard.

 

He was fun to watch last night, quite fast. But Ibragimov made it too easy.

Arreola vrs. Mitchell is the fight to make. Could be a classic.

 

Will have to see him in with a top 20 heavyweight that can punch before getting too high on him. Timur was a good win, but he it was no problem for Seth to walk through his punches.

 

He needs to be taken along at a brisk but moderate pace from here on out. Each fight needs to be a small step up and a learning experience. But he has power and is athletic. Next fight for him should be Juan Carlos Gomez(the guy Vitali beat a few years back), then Bermane Stiverne, then Alexander Dimientrenko, then finally someone on the tier below the K-Bros and Haye, like Adamek. If he gets there, he should bide his time there fighting all of those guys before either taking on Wlad or fighting for a vacant belt.

 

Here's a thought. Seth Mitchell blew his knee out playing football. Career-ending knee injury. Completely shot knee.

He was age 25 watching the contender and saw Tom Zbikowski fighting on tv and said "hey, I can do that".

25, never boxed before, shot knees.

He just knocked out (brutally, I might add) Timur Ibragimov in two rounds, a former Olympian, who just went life and death with the guy who is Wlad's next opponent.

The man is 29 and has been boxing for 4 years with shot knees.
