I thought he got a draw, he might of won by one round, if you give the close rounds to the champ. i think that the other guy let his hands go, making himself look more better, even know alot were not hitting...

but i had it a draw....

He's really not suited to MW.

I think he'd be far more effective back at 154. He's too short and his reach is too short to be effective at middleweight, with his skillset at least. Don't know how easily he'd be able to get down to that again though, might not be possible.

Where would he fit in at 154? I would expect the four belt holders(Alvarez, K9, Cotto, and Trout) to whoop his ass, the next 5 guys in the Division(P. Will, Kirkland, Angulo, Lara, and Molina) would make short work of him too and after that I can't be much better than 50-50 on him against anybody anywhere remotely near the top of the division. Maybe he would kick the **** out of Frank LaPorto and Daniel Dawson, but I wouldn't bet on it. He's maxed out with his current camp, he needs to change camps and see if anyone can get anymore growth out of him. If not, he's done.

David Lemieux has no countering skills and he's just not that good unless he fights C level fighters, his mind set is one way only and that is to try to ko the guy in the first couple of rounds and once he can't he does not know what to do.

If Box Rec is correct, Lemieux's T-Rex like reach is 64" and both Cotto and Pac have 67" reach. :patsch

All true.. but I think he'd make more of a career for himself there than at MW. At least his power might be slightly more effective. He's only had one fight with his current camp and by the looks of things, nothings changed. No improvement except in his physical conditioning, which was better than it's ever been. Obviously, he thought conditioning was the only reason he lost to Rubio, and it did play a large part, but skills wise he's very limited too. I wonder who'd be willing to take him on and try to improve him. :think

Alcine had a 5 week training camp? And still embarrassed Lemieux.

That's a large part of DL's problem I think. He had far too much hype before he was really tested and he's bought into it. His trainer left him because he said David was not willing to work on things and put in the effort fully to do what it takes to be elite in prize fighting. Up til the Rubio fight he thought he could just win every fight with his power, reminds me a bit of Cintron before he met anvil head Margarito. From there he never was the same again. The kid is still young, he could get serious and put in the work and take a string of lesser fights and work on things and possibly still make some noise in a year or two, but I'm not sure he has the will within to do so, and I also think he would do better at 154.

    Forget about 154.

    Look at the guy...

He'll live and die at 160...

In his post fight comments he was disappointed obviously, but said he'll still be world champion one day. He showed in this camp that he has some determination to improve by getting into the shape he did. I think he just needs to find the right trainer who'll work with him on the technical side of things. You have to remember too Alcine was a former champion and put in his best performance in 4 or 5 years. In hindsight, perhaps they were foolish to put Lemieux in with such a wiley and experienced fighter. Lemiuex has had a lot of fights, but his actual ring time isn't that high due to all the early knockouts. He's still inexperienced, and experience counts for a lot. He's learned more in the Rubio and Alcine fights than he learned in the 24 previous fights, that's for sure. In many ways he's only now learning stuff that he should have learned at 18/19 years of age. I'm not saying he'll ever be a world champion or anything like that, but I wouldn't write him off completely just yet. I'll be interested to see where he's at in a year or two.
