khan will get his ass kicked at 147 . he's a popcorn fighter, hit and run for his life. butter him up, salt him and slow him down and he;s dead. Khan has speed but no technech. as long and as they find him the right fights against slow fighters he may win. in 2 years we will all know Khan as a HPYE JOB....

All that said, I appreciate Go Getta.

While I may not care for the fighter he's a fan of, he can at least debate without being a disrespectful ****, unlike other factions on this forum.

moving up will decrease his punch effect on welterweights. He needs a guy like Emanual Steward and he could do well, but he might be too along in his career to learn anything else. He has great handspeed, but not real fight plan. Khan reminds me of Jermaine Taylor.

I actually think he gets KTFO by both Berto and Ortiz at 147.

Khan ain't gonna get by Bradley and the elite @ 147 will probably put him down and out...

So let me get this straight. Khan has no power at 140 according to you so moving up in weight would be a good idea for him, even though guys hit harder at that weight:lol:

    Taylor was better than Khan.

Agreed. Taylor twice beat an ATG. Khan's never done that.

I don't think the move up in weight will effect his punch. It's a style thing that he needs to work on with freddie and implement in the ring, the problem with sitting on more of his punches is that he is there to be hit more and glass chin or not, nobody likes to be hit

Khan moving up to 147lbs is a bad move, and could spell the end of a promising career. His punches can barely keep 140lbers at bay, he is just not a powerful puncher...he doesn't, and never will have the pop you expect him to have. Even when he sits down on his punches, he never has boxers in serious trouble.

At the minute, he is still fighting like an amateur, he expects the referee to step in each and every time a boxer gets close, or clinched. This is what happens in amateur, he doesn't work in the clinch, and never fights his way out of the clinch. Khan has fast feet, looks very natural with his movement at times. But his footwork is atrocious for someone fighting at the level he is. As soon as someone starts walking him down, he doesn't know what to do. Standing there with your shell guard up and letting someone unload punch after punch on you is again, amateurish.

Like I said, moving up to 147lbs is a bad move. There is no guarantee that his power will improve, and if he can't keep 140lbers at bay, he sure as hell isn't keeping WW's at bay. Add on the fact that he will be taking heavier, more draining shots from much bigger men. If Khan was fighting Bradley on Saturday, Bradley would have won also. If Khan moves up to WW next and fights an Ortiz, I'd predict he would lose also.

It's time to stop overrating him, and once you do that...you will see that Khan's improvements have not been all that great. He has been slowly, SLOWLY improving under Roach...but there has been no massive step in to the Elite. And he may never do that.

He needs to work on his technique first and foremost

I agree with others, it's the technical side of the game that he needs to work on. You don't need one punch KO power to be successful.

Can you imagine Khan if he threw less shots but more often and pivoted out instead of running straight back. Can you imagine if he actually moved his head?

Dude would box peoples heads off all night, but instead he has a terrible habit of just running backwards until he hits the ropes then putting this guard up which is open for uppercuts and body shots while he's in no position to throw.

He has all the physical talent and half of the technical talent but what he's missing will prevent him from becoming one of the greats.
