“I don’t want to say too much about those people, but I think that’s definitely the problem I think. Because there aint no way in hell that I would have had Amir Khan fighting like that. Amir Khan was all over the place, throwing crazy, wild-ass punches and I’ve done seen some women fight way better than that. Laila Ali fights better than that, sh!t. He was all over, he was throwing punches from across the street and he’s an awkward guy but he can fight better than that. All I can say is he needs some more work, a lot of work matter of fact.” Floyd Sr. said.

I've always said the same.Roach is a fraud and people should be able to see that by now.Khan hasnt been taught anything really,he has no defence. All he does is run in and out, cant move his head, cant block uppercuts, doesnt know what to do when he's backed into a corner or ropes.Just too many mistakes and he hasnt really fought students of the game yet.I would love to see what would happen if he fought Guererro,Marquez,Bradley,Berto,Ortiz etc.

A few defensive flaws doesn't equal 0 defense.

I agree with Khan's stylistic criticisms, but man do boxing fans like to exaggerate.

from what I heard, the mayweathers rejected Amir Khan in training him after his KO loss to prescott saying he wont amount to anything. This would be like Amir selling his soul if he jumped ship.

I thought it was because Roger was to busy to train Amir? Didn't Roger recommend Amir to go to Floyd Sr?

    Posted thisin another thread..

"I think roaches tenacity, heart and work ethic are admirable and his best qualities as a fighter/trainer and they make him very good. But he is definitly overrated beyond that to a level he's simply not at because the intelligence he approached/instructs his craft is nothing special and even lacking.."

yes he did! Khan wanted to be trained by Roger and even went over for a few days training! I recall that Roger recommended Amir train over on the east coast with Floyd Senior, but how accurate those reports are is anyones guess!

And who is Floyd Sr. training these days, exactly? Any world champions in there? Maybe it's time to shut up and focus on your own work instead.
