Look how big of a underdog he was coming into the fight, he fought like a warrior and made it a great fight, really did everything he could to get the win.
Regardless of how you feel about the ref you have to feel happy for Lamont coming back into the fight like that after the first round and then turning it into a war.
I ended up with a draw on my scorecard, feel it could have gone either way.
Full credit to both fighters but especially peterson for the way he fought, also great humble answers post fight and his willingness to rematch Khan is great as well.
His corner did an amazing job at motivating him, that was epic.
Slaps him," look at me! aint gonna be no party on our floor at this rate:twisted:,how bad do you want it!"

It was great. As much as big of an AK fan I am, you can't just help but feel happy for a guy who came from NOTHING to becoming a World Champion.

I wish I had that type of dedication and drive like that in life. That's an experience you can't get or buy.

That said, I hope Amir wins the rematch, of course. ;)

Agreed! Great fight and both guys did great. Most of us only ever utilise about 10 percent of our potential. Drive, will and potential greatness is hidden within most of us, you just gotta eliminate doubt.

Perfectly said. I thought Khan won, but I am happy for Peterson. Dude's a major class act and one of boxing's good guys.

He fought like his life was on the line out there and I hope he can fight with that much grit and determination from now on

:deal I'm hoping this win lights a fire under Peterson, and he keeps it on from now on. I think with all he's been through to get to this stage in his life, he will.

Agreed!! i like Petersons trainer. He seems like a no-nonsense cool dude. thats the kind of guy you want in your corner.

remember against Ortiz... he said something like "I never lied to you before and never will, if you turn it up you got this ****"

last night he told Lamont that he was going to be world champ if he puts the pressure on in the last few rounds.

Peterson really came to the table with more than 1 game plan. He realised early he couldnt outbox and move back in a straight line against Amir so turned into a pressure fighting cheap Julio Cesar Chavez which was really impressive and great to see.

    - Anyone else notice how both fighters struggled with body shots though - I think that will be a big factor in the rematch!

A lot of credit to Peterson's personal referee should be the title.

Peterson definitely deserves a lot of credit. He kept coming forward, kept pushing, kept trying to find a way. Even with all of the rest of the discussion, you really have to give him that credit.

Khan won this fight, but the point deductions are there for a reason.
