I know it's illegal... the same as Floyd using his elbow all the time is illegal, the same as Wlad pushing down on his opponents head is illegal, the same as Foreman pushing his opponents back to get his shots off was illegal etc

    It's boxing, it happens.

if khan was a humble fighter that didn't use his twitter account to praise himself and scrutinize others then people wouldn't feel inclined to demean him when he failed. he DOES make exciting fights, he DOES have a better chin than what the prescott fight supposedly revealed, but he's also obscenely full of himself, and people love to hate those sort of athletes/entertainers/celebrities/people in general.

Of course he's under the microscope; his ego and boasting ensure it. All fighters feed off ego. Most fighters boast. Nothing wrong with that.

But you have to back it up.

If you want to call yourself the man, then you have to prove to everyone you are. You don't do that by doing just enough to win in your book. Absolute domination is required.

It's because HE talks about himself as this super great fighter who's going to beat Mayweather and how he handles Pac in sparring and he fails to show us that

Mayweather has advertised this sort of nonsense for the longest. He says "Do what you can to sell tickets". Khan's bravado earns him money, why shouldn't he be talking when it obviously stirrs up the brewery at 140lbs?

People need to be real and credit him with a good fighting heart, an obvious chin. He's obviously trying to prove he's the man, why else would he go to DC as the champion, and fight Peterson in his home town?

When was the last time Mayweather left any doubts about who won the fight? Floyd makes sure he backs up his bragging.

If Khan wants to talk like Floyd, he needs to back it up like Floyd.

Khan is a good fighter, no denying that. But he's not even close to how good he says he is.

yeah, it's a two way street though, he makes money by using the floyd mayweather blueprint, boasting and exhibiting tremendous bravado, but that comes at a price, you're scrutinized more than others when you fail. it's that simple, even to the point where others aren't even willing to recognize your strengths.

Agreed. He brings the microscope on himself. As a result both his fans and his haters go overboard.

To me, he is one of the most exciting fighters in the world. I absolutely hate his ass and watch every second of his fights hoping he gets KTFO. Khan will make millions off of guys like me.

I like him, which is why I am critical of him. He's of a similar age to me, so it was crazy watching a kid do so well in the Olympics at his age, followed his career since then and have been through stages where he's done my head in (pre prescott) or where his earned back my respect (moving to LA, Maidana fight).

Against Peterson I was looking forward to him having built some more on his improvements, but instead I just saw huge holes in his game, which IMO now make him vulnerable to being beaten by a lot more fighters than I thought he was. His complete lack of an inside game is frightening, and with the fact that he can't seem to keep a fighter off him and is so easy to pressure makes me wonder how he'll cope now that fighters have seen this. No disrespect, but there are better and harder hitting pressure fighters than Lamont Peterson out there.

Completely understand where you are coming from, his talk does "stir up the brewery at 140" but at the same time, people watch Mayweather hoping he gets KTFO or to witness a boxing clinic. Fortunately, it's the clinic we see.

Watching Khan put himself on the line like he's the worlds greatest but fall short gets boring and irritating.
