Same can, some can't. Regarding Khan, my money is on the latter case. Remember What I Said. If you forget, you know the deal...:yep
who's Amir Khan anyway? Lamont Peterson will beat him again, Khan was ready for the fight and he lost, same thing will happen again
As much as I would love a rematch I'd think I'd love to see the look on Khan's face more if Lamont were to say "why should I give you a rematch when you wouldn't rematch Maidana or Prescott?" That would be priceless. I have no problem with Khan whatsoever but I do think he needs to be brought down to Earth for a little bit. Any boxer that wouldn't revenge a knockout loss because he automatically thinks he'd win the 2nd fight is just plain ******ed. Come on man, where is your pride?
Actually HBO would put either of those fights on. Peterson can fight Khan a few fights down the road, there is no rush. Maybe Khan should go rematch Prescott.
Lamont would be a G if he turned down the rematch and said nah, you lose, let it sit with you. it burns doesnt it .. it burns.
Amir Unfinished Business Khan should stop trying to call the shots. Where's Prescott's rematch? Where's Maidana's rematch? All that crybaby ****, and nothing about what he should adjust, only excuses as to why what he did didn't work. Khan don't deserve ****. Lamont a G.
The point is clear, the rematch (should it happen) will be formed in such a way as to allow Kahn to do as he wishes (pushes and holding not to be penalized as before) and as such the rematch will go as the first one was expected to go. Let's be clear few people were picking Lamont to win this fight so your assertion that Golden Boy knew he would be this kind of challenge based on the fact that he fought Ortiz, despite the fact they allowed the fight to be in Lamont's hometown, and despite the fact that nobody else gave him a chance to win doesn't really make any rational sense. You believe that to be a conspiracy theory, I feel that to be common sense based on the circumstances of the first match, the fallout from Golden Boy thereafter and what we've come to find in circumstances in which the 'underdog' pulls out a fight in this manner.
He didn't say he will 'NEVER' get an inside game.. he said he doesn't have one now. The only thing he's learned since getting blasted out by Prescott is that when people get close you hold, push and/or spin out of the pressure. That works find when the ref isn't Joe Cooper. That was taught to him by his current trainer, so yeah unless he switches up his current team there isn't much likely hood that aspect of his game will improve much. Joe Cooper is the exception not the rule and more than likely Kahn will not run into another ref that will enforce the rules as tightly as Cooper did. In other words, there isn't much incentive to switch things up, just make sure you have right ref in the ring with you.
The higher purse DOES justify it. That is why these guys fight. If Khan gets a gift in the UK, a trilogy would be in order. That means another big payday for Peterson. If Peterson somehow wins, his stock rises even more.
...According to the odds peterson lost the fight the day it was signed....it wasnt even suppose to be close...so atleast give him some credit for making close enough to go either way..besides the 2nd k.d was weak becuase khans leg was behind lamonts...so khan got a free 10-8 rd from the same "dodgy ref" AND PEOPLE ACT LIKE THE 2ND POINT DEDUCTION WAS FROM PUSHING it wasnt it was from cheapshot khan landed ....i mean **** the guy had "the champ" on the backfoot from rd 3 on out straight running trying to shoe shine....good fight but lamont "PUT HIMSELF" in the close enough to rob khan range where he wasnt suppose to a ref didnt put him there....not saying he robbed him i think he won by 1-2 points
If I were Peterson I would not give Khan an immediate rematch personally, Lamonts team gas already stated they will not be bullied into a rematch, although Khan does deserve a rematch, I would rather see Lamont attempt to avenge his only Loss against Bradley... Beating Bradley would do wonders for Lamonts career and would make him the #1 fighter at 140, if he does get by Bradley with his belts intact Khan will still want the fight and Lamont by beating Bradley puts himself in a position to make top dollar and dictate other areas of negotiations... Like a few have said Khan doesn't give rematches, karma's a *****, Lamont has turned downed his would be biggest pay day against Khan before so its not all about money with him, he beats Bradley in his next fight he can start to write his own ticket... Bradley is #1 at 140, Bradley dominated Lamont, Lamont edged Khan, Bradley's undefeated, Khan has two losses, Lamont a loss and a draw, you can't rank Khan above Lamont, cause he lost to him, you can't rank Lamont over Bradley because he got dominated, so you have to rank them 1. Bradley 2. Peterson 3. Khan, that's for the guy who thinks Bradley isn't #1, it can be no other way...
