There was a good thread discussing this the other day.

If Khan moves up to 147, his career is going to take a nosedive pretty quickly.

He's not physically strong enough, hasn't got the punch power, gets hit too often and has no inside game whatsoever. Just imagine a bigger, stronger version of Peterson brutalising him - That's a fight with Ortiz at 147.

 

Objectively speaking, I think Khan has trouble when moves up in weight to 147. He's relatively easy to hit, and yet he doesn't carry enough punching power to flourish in those type of back-and-forth affairs.

I think Berto KOs this kid.

He could not take more than a couple of the shots that Berto and Ortiz were landing on each other.

 

I never did like the idea of Khan moving up to 147. Last Saturday confirmed it for me. Weighing just a measly 149 on fight night at the moment, he'd be eaten up guys like Ortiz who come in at 165+.

 

I think this is a very smart post, however i have also thought that maybe at 140 hes not fighting at his optimum weight, so that change of a few Lbs could possibly increase Stamina, strenghth, and possibly power.

I just think hes so slight for the weight he fights at and could easily put decent weight on to that frame

 

I just think the further north he goes, the harder he'll get his - and for someone who can't keep fighters off him - that's a recipe for disaster

 

Can you imagine if Khan had fought a prime Margarito?

It'd be a ****ing massacre.

 

If Marg could make 147 now, hed still massacre him, you would see the tears roll down khans face as he realises this guy wont stop coming forward. :rofl

 

I disagree with most, a move to 147 will be better for Khan as he would have stronger legs and better power to stand his ground and get off with solid shots at times when someone tries to walk him down.

Khan weighing at 147, on fight night Khan will come in the ring close to 160, that will fill his frame.
