Froch would KO Kessler in a rematch

Nobody at 168 is KO'ing Kessler, I can't think of anyone at 175 either.

 

I'd love to see a rematch between those two. I think there were genuine reasons for Froch's poor performance, whether it was mental or physical, and I do think he could perform better in a rematch. I suppose you could say the same for Kessler though and maybe he'd perform even better? I'm not sure, really. I think it'd be a great fight though and I hope we do get to see it. Everyone is talking about possible fights with Bute, but if Froch beats Ward, I'd rather see a Kessler fight whilst Bute and Ward face off.

 

Kessler is one of those fighters who doesn't really get mentioned when people talk about great chins but I think he has one. Very, very tough fighter despite his pretty boy looks.

 

WOn't happen.
In the next 2 years, they will all fight Bute and others.
By the time there's no one left, MK will retire.

 

Kessler has a pretty sturdy chin, but I'd bet that Bute could KO him by bodyshot. And at 175, I think Cloud would be able to KO him.

 

And Froch would also get outclassed by Dirrell in a rematch.

 

Froch seems to be constantly improving, and Kessler has had injury problems and is not the fighter he was.

Could be that Froch would win a rematch now.

 

That would be good, but Kessler is fighting Stieglitz in April. Ideally Bute will fight the winner, ward most likely, and then fight kessler if he is physically ok, which I have doubts about his eye.

 

He could not knock kessler down,when kessler had a serius injuryed eye...And Kessler has never been knocked down with a punch!!! he´s been pushed ones,but never been knocked down.IF carl brings a bat next time,he might have a chance or else:never....
Maybe he could win a rematch,we have to see kessler fight stiegliezt first,injury free.IF kessler turns up with no injury and fight the best he can,Froch will loose again.take a look at the ward fight,he was cut all over his face,shots landed because he couldt not see anything (he told his corner) and he wasnt on unsteady feet once!! IF Kessler should be knocked out it would be by bodyshots...

 

People underestimate how much of a role Kessler's consistant body attack played against Froczowski. He landed hard rights to Karoly's body every round and Froch himself admitted they took something out of him energy wise and that he didn't have the reserves that he usually does.

I believe it was on 360 you can hear Karoly in the corner saying "those body shots are ****ing killing me"

 

It's possible that Froch might win a return. Particularly if the fight was in Nottingham. I find it most unlikely however, that froch would win by KO. It might be stopped due to cuts as Kessler's eyes resemble an old football these days.

I think though that it is much more likely that an injury free Kessler KO's Froch. The precision punching that was his trademark in his first titlereign was absent in the s6 fights because of the doublevision he had. I believe that Froch will be overwhelmed. Furthermore I think Froch's best ever fight was the Kessler fight. I think he showed some wear and tear in the Johnson fight that had me speculating if he was beginning to show his age. It's worth noting that Froch has had a string of tough fights unrivalled in boxing today.

 

Didn't look like Kessler was ever really hurt to me, not anymore than Froch himself was getting hurt. Kessler's never been stopped or even dropped, so I find your thesis hard to believe. Let's see Froch get past Ward first before even discussing stuff like this.
