Smoger is one of the best referees in the business because he lets them fight.

That final round was given to Peterson 10-8 by the two judges in question, when infact he didnt do or land **** all.

Were the two judges under the impression that point deductions should be counted like a knockdown?

People are complaining because they've never seen points taken off for pushing, but as far as I know the rules state that excessive pushing is not allowed. Pushing is fine when trying to avoid a clinch. Khan was pushing during exchanges because he didn't know what else to do. It was obviously a natural reaction for a fighter that has no inside game. He was warned about it plenty of times but carried on doing it. Very different from Pacquiao pushing his opponent away when his opponent tries to clinch him. The referee did nothing wrong at all. He warned Khan and Khan continued to push plenty of times. The ref did not follow the rules to the letter. If he had followed the rules to the letter then there would have been points taken off earlier. In fact, it took a hell of a lot of pushing before the ref said enough is enough. I don't have any problem with it. For the record, I don't like the dirty little tricks used by other fighters either, nor the blatant holding and hitting seen from Hatton against Tszyu. Referees should try to keep it as pure boxing as possible instead of allowing it to turn into some ugly brawl or wrestling match.

There's too much inconsistency. For example, Dirrell was penalised for excessive holding against Froch but we see other fights where clinches literally occur every few seconds and nothing happens. I think McDermott's rematch against Williams was an example, if I remember correctly.

As for Peterson's head. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing in the rules that says head movement is not allowed. What is Khan expecting? A fighter to try and get on the inside by keeping his head upright? He's gotta bob and weave. This was not headbutting. If you wanna see headbutting then watch the Ortiz Mayweather fight where Ortiz tried to send Mayweathers nose through the back of his skull with a blatant attempted headbutt. Then you had Khans blatant use of the forearm in round 1. He has nothing to complain about. Move on.

    Good post.

I mean what are Khan fans advocating, that he be allowed to hold exclusively to cut down Peterson's supply line, Peterson's only way to win the fight, which is fighting inside, something that just happens to be Khan's biggest achilles heel? Khan is just pissed because his only way to negate Peterson inside game was to hold, only that avenue was taken away from him.

Khan is irrelevant to me, I dont waste me time disliking him, but aren't you just kinda glad he got jobbed, what with all this nuthuggery and excuses?

I would have stopped Lebedev-Jones when Jones was unconscious.

I guess me and Smoger don't agree on everything. :conf

pac has more or less been able to do this all through his career, roach has not taught pac to do it at all :deal
****,don't get me wrong roach is a good trainer, but a good trainer needs a great boxer to show his skills. i believe that its the boxer who makes the trainer look good 1st and foremost, the boxer has the skillset and the trainer,if he is good enough can make him better.

problem is and always will be with khan,he is not a boxing great with a boxing mind,he has great speed with simple combinations:bart

Keep hearing that line but would think you will do...if someone ever does it to the ridiculous extremes of what Khan was doing again, ever.

But that's the unlikely part, ever seeing someone attempt to cheat so blatently again, ever. As most others haven't had it so easy.

Pac was able to do it because roach instilled it. It was a lot of work and until the Diaz fight, pac still liked to slug it out because he knew he was faster and punched harder. I think roach deserves some of the credit for that.

And he did improve his balance

I asked Graham Poll, the football referee and he said if Khan had done that he would have sent him the **** off. So,heres proof,if any other ref reffed the fight,Khan wouldnt have even lasted the full distance.
For interest sake, was you called special a lot when you were young and do you aspire to clean windows by licking them?
