nelson let simpson down **** was munching on greggs halfway through fight i'm sure of it. ok i know there delicious 4 for £3.75 sausage rolls and fizzy orange lucozade but help da lad ffs man. nelson hope ya enjoy ya pizzahut tonight and stop stealing wee john's jalapenos.
Did nobody else have it a shutout at the time of the stoppage then? Simmo blocked a fair bit but didn't get much done of his own tbh. A few scattered body shots vs. some free-flowing jabs. It was pick what you like, I guess.
Gave Simpson the first just! other then that had Selby winning without going through gears. He seemed quite at ease with it all..
:good For those dismissing the KO shot - no it wasn't hard, but it was at the top of the ribs, part on his right lung. Get hit there, then come back taking ****.
Yep my dad always used to say aim for there, just knock the rib up and it's a killer. Body shots people think need to be powerful but it's timing as well and he timed it well and sucked life out of Simpson.
I only gave Simpson a round. Very true, the placement and timing was perfect. I love how you can see Selby go to his right, and then quickly take a step back to his left before firing the body shot in.
Hard fight to score. I won't argue for Selby 3-1, 2-2 or 3-1 to Simpson. Simpson gets screwed by amateur judges who don't score him blocking punches and countering. Too much finesse to follow.
I think everybody sees that he's blocking a great deal, it's just that he isn't really countering very often or effectively in truth. Even going to the body, his attacks are somewhat catch-as-catch-can. His defense is sound and that's creditable but only half the game.
Simpson was always gonna struggle in this cos he likes to block then throw, throw then block you need a bit more to your game to beat Selby. Either be a mover like Lindsay who can counter punch well from long-mid range or be a Choi type who has decent speed of foot to close range and isn't upright and is willing to take a few to give a few. Simpson just didn't seem to know what to do and Nelson seemed a bit lost with answers admittedly.
I'd be major shocked if John dropped to SBW just can't see it happening, seems his love of the sport is gone now, guys a warrior and be missed in the ring!
