Peterson is featherfisted, 50% KO ratio and I'm sure most came early in his career against soft opponents. I can tell you are kidding, but you root for your guy. I can't knock that.
Khan said himself when he's at 150lbs at the start of training camp he floors sparring partners, but when he gets to 140lbs he loses power, feels weaker. Say what you want but khan at 147 will have better balance, which will help his technique, thus increase his power. He will only have to put on 5 lbs of muscle because ariza said he wants khan to come in at 155 on fight night at 147. Remember this is boxing not a weight lifting contest otherwise Ortiz would have beaten mayweather and mosley would have beaten mayweather. Khan doesn't lift weights he can't afford to, he is too big, if he came in any bigger he will struggle to make weight. Peterson is 5'9, 3cms smaller than khan and seemed comfortable at 155. Ortiz lifts weights you can tell, but it isn't working for him he just got KTFO against mayweather. But because he beat an overated berto he is the next best thing since sliced bread. Lets remember ortiz had 2 knockdowns against peterson and didn't get 2 point deductions, also got heavily wobbled by peterson, khan wasn't slighty hurt.atschatsch:rofl:rofl
I personally would love to see him against the likes of Ortiz and Berto. Those are intriguing matchups.
Khan will get physically better, but his opposition will be also and I think now that it's bad for him. I can see Mike Jones, Berto and Ortiz beating him. He'd give a good account for himself though, but Khan just has a bad style to move up in weight. If you look at a fighter like Floyd when he moved up, his workrate went down, used his ring IQ and defense more. He also moved around less and picked his shots better. I'm not saying Khan has to be like that, but i don't see him fairing well vs bigger opponents. Pacquiao can do it because of his speed (Khan has it also) and his angles/footwork. Khan has fast feet, but his footwork is crap
Do you know what body shots do? Also do you realize when you have a moving target in front of you, you won't throw 5 punch combinations especially against a counter puncher
He honestly doesn't look like a solid ripped 140 at all. I think if he puts the work in(some fighters don't and i heard Khan is no Manny in training.) he could possibiy add some solid muscle to his frame around his sides and in certain areas that would benefit his style and allow him to stand up to heavier punches especially body shots. I think he's so ****ing big at the weight he can't add any more muscle. Maybe at 147 he could be aa beast. look at Ortiz v Berto his first fight there. looked a different animal.
Khan beats both of those phonies ... I think Khan beat Peterson and the only Welterweight to beat Khan would be Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Bradley.
Peterson was bigger than Khan. Fight night Khan was 149lbs, whereas Peterson was 155lbs. Khan should still be fighting at 140 for another year
Khan on Ringside now saying he shouldn't have pushed Lamont but 'had no choice' because of Lamont coming in with his head. Isn't it legal to have your head on your opponents chest if you're on the inside? :huh Also, he doesn't sound very sure that Peterson's gonna take the rematch. Saying he may have to rely on the appeal. :blood
It doesn't matter what weight Khan fights at, he needs to learn how to fight first. He has the tools to beat anyone from 140-147 just not the right teaching:good
