It's been observed by several noted chin experts (myself included) that Andre Ward doesn't have the sturdiest set of whiskers in this game. Could Carl Froch be the one to expose what may be a fragile mandible??
Many of the chin experts on here are nowhere near experts. They simply observe a fighter getting hurt at some point in their career. They then obsessively claim that the fighter has a glass jaw, and predict that they will get knocked out before every one of their fights. 95% of the time, these so called experts are wrong. This is boxing though, and anything can happen. So the 5% of the time that they're right, they claim over and over again that they knew the guy was going to get stopped.
Glass jaws exist in boxing. And something tells me Ward has one. Froch just might be the guy to shatter it.
I'm one of those that has noticed that Ward appears to be harboring a Fragile Glass Mandible but I just really don't feel that Froch is the man to expose it. The gulf in athleticism and class is wide and with the refs that allow Ward to headbutt and clinch at will, Froch would have to fight the fight of his life to shatter that disgraceful Chin. That being said, Ward's Jaw is disgraceful and Froch has the power and the Heart to prove it.
No because Ward doesn't have a questionable chin. He got dropped in his 6th pro fight against a fighter that was far better and much more seasoned then most guys in there 6th fight ever face. He's being hit clean by Miranda, Bika, and Abraham since then. I think people think its a way to get inside his head but really the guy's got a world level beard. Lets not all forget DLH developed one of the best beards in his division but he was on the canvas all the time and got dropped a decent amount as a prospect.
When was the last time Froch KOed someone? What 2 years ago. Anyone can get KOed I doubt it will happen on Sat.
The closer this fight gets the less chance i'm giving Froch. Gutted to be honest, because he's actually very good and a bit 'different' to the usual stuff we watch. Ward will not engage with Froch, and the work rate will lead to a wide UD. IF Ward loses it, and goes toe to toe, I can see it going to a SD or something. A KO is Froch's only decent chance IMO, and I'd like to see him look for it early. Albeit I like Ward and don't really want to see him lose either. Got to support my countryman though... Froch by smashing KO in the 3rd it is then. (not going to happen)
You fail as being a chinchecker for calling Ward's chin into question after he took flush shots from Arthur Abraham and Edison Miranda and still kept on coming. Matter of fact, a chin checker that fails in his predictions as a chin checker is a failure of a chin checker over all.
It could happen. Ward himself admitted that anybody can be knocked out, and he's right. I don't think it's likely to happen, however. Ward has taken some decent shots lately and absorbed them well. Froch has good power, but is really more of a workmanlike accumulation puncher. I think this one goes 12, and I hope we get an entertaining fight! :smoke
Zak does this with every fighter he deems "weak-chinned", regardless of how many times this fighter has taken a good shot. He fails to realize that sometimes it's just a matter of that shot yuo never saw coming, and not so much chin. Once he labels a fighter's chin "glass", he predicts that fighter will lose by KO repeatedly. No matter how many fights that fighter shows a good chin and does not get "shattered", he continued to pick against them. Then, when it finally happens, he says "See! I told you that glass would shatter". These are the tactics of grade school children, FFS! :rofl
