Punch = legal. Foul = illegal. Come back with a better argument because the current one sucks. Solis got KO'd end of story. He's not the 1st to get injured in the process but it all started with a PUNCH not a FOUL.

No one is dumb, just different opinions so please respect others. Vitaly just nipped Solis' top of the head, not enough to knock down anyone much less a fighter like Solis who took Felix Savon's punch in three fights and was never knocked down or out.

The conclusion is that Vitaly acted very un-professional yelling at Solis to continue. Solis is coming back soon and will be rocking the HV scene, I just wish that Vitaly stays around and give him his due rematch.

An opinion is as good as any IF it makes sense. Bringing in a FOULING incident to argue with a genuine (but rare) temple shot KO produced by a PUNCH does not make sense. I literally introduced Solis here and I'm a fan of his but keep it freaking real. Injury or not Solis was caught by a legal punch, went down and was on jelly legs (healthy too) minutes later.

Temple shot KO is rare but DEVASTATING. Mundine took Kessler's best while Ottke couldn't punch himself out of a paper bag. Watch what happens here.

I agreed with you that wasn't a foul involved but, when he was down he immediately hold his leg, clear sign that the knee was hurting more than the punch, I agreed that some temple shots are devastating but in this case Solis beat the count and couldn't continue because the leg, all in all he got what he deserved, a 6' tall HW weighting 270 lbs is not acceptable, he let his fans down and mostly himself now he needs to show that he belongs and keep himself in shape, good luck doing that...
PS. I know he didn't weight 270 lbs for that fight but he keep himself north of that weight when not in trainning.

 

Good point except Solis wasn't hit so hard beside the ear like the vid you showed, he was hit exclusively at the top of the head almost as a brushing motion. The video you showed shows a solid punch impacting the side of the ear, very different to what Solis was hit with.

This is what happened in my opinion: Solis was brushed with a powerful punch, was slighty dazzed but felled because his knee gave up on him and couldn't get up because of that. So, he clearly lost because he couldn't continue due to an injury. This is my un-biased opinion...

 

But what started all was the punch, it is a loss no matter how we put it a combination of Solis lack of discipline and VK power, I have no doubt in my mind that if Solis kept himself in shape from the get go, he would had beat VK, he is faster and have a better boxing with a good set of wiskers but he didn't do what Hayes did, take good care of himself.

That's not a temple shot KO or even a real temple punch, it's a temple slap, vitali, malignaggi or whoever threw it, it had absolutely no power and it had nothing to do with the KO... just happened at the same time and yes, by the rules, it should be ruled as a KO, but we all know it had nothing to do with a KO. Solis didn't lose consciousness for even a second, not shaky, no nothing. It's just that his knee, that had already some problems for some time, gave up in that moment, after all the jumping n shiet in that round. Solis deserved the loss for being such a fat motherfuker, but Vitali and his girly slap deserve 0 credit. That was a "scared slap" when you look at it closely, like he was annoyed because of Solis pressure and kinda threw his hand over to push him away.

This is coming from the biggest Solis' hater, one of the only Cubans who doesn't give a d**n about the dude.

Pointless to continue this, I'm on the Solis wagon just merely pointed out that the Hopkins argument lacks logic because this is an entirely different story. If u go down due to a punch, no matter what happens, you need to get back up and show fighting condition or you're done, 0% room for any other result.

Do not underestimate the damage even of a smaller blow (landed by the highest KO% guy in HW history). Salgado barely reached Linares' temple who went down motionless, see what happened when the ref let it continue.

That was a strong azz punch... if that's "barely reached", then Vitali was hitting the air when Solis fell. Dude, no need to bring videos trying to show what's a temple shot, it is common, we've all seen it before. Vitali's caress over Solis just wasn't one.
