Poll: Where do you have Canelo in your p4p rankings?

Well in the division I think Cotto, Lara, Williams, Kirkland, Angulo, Vanes, Dzinziruk, and Molina should rate above him even tho he has a good chance at beating any of them its a 50-50 fight at the moment. So I'd say he's top 40-50 and that's cuz I'm a fan. But one thing is to presume and another is to actually do and a win over Cintron as his best to date is about the same as Molina, even tho Canelo did stop him, he might struggle with Molina. Cintron didnt have the same devastating power as he had before. Cotto and Lara are the topp dawgs at the moment. Kirkland might be the most feared puncher but he still seems like a ko waiting to happen as does Williams, but its easier said than done. I dont even have Canelo in the top 5 as far as accomplishments, but along with Lara those 2 have the most potential.

 

Big props for mentioning Dzinzurick :good I'd love to see him fight Cotto.

 

I agree except for Vanes, guy got a huge gift against Ouma.

How can you rob a guy like Ouma; its just bad taste.

 

Yea very cagey fighter. Alcine just had a big win and you cant count Trout and Bundrage out either!

He looked great. You can argue top 20. Maybe top 11 to 15 if you're a fan.

Really? And what is it exactly about beating Shane at this point is so impressive? This isn't Shane from a decade ago. Fact of the matter is, Canelo, even as a titleholder, hasn't beaten, or FOUGHT anyone ranked at 154 worth a damn. Of sure, the WBC 'gave' Shane high ranking for this fight. But we all know that was more politically motivated then actually having to do anything with what Shane has done in the ring.

top 20 is for established fighters. Beating an old shot Mosley and Cintron is not enough. If he is to beat top contenders like Lara, Kirkland, Vanes or Molina he will get closer. For now he is fighting the right fights market wise and that's it.

 

Where do I have Canelo in my p4p rankings?

A lot lower than I did 3 days ago.

He looked incredibly average against old-man Mosely.

 

If he beats Cotto next I'll have him in the top 10-15. If he beats Serg instead this year (who I have as #5 or 6), I'll have him in the top 10.

 

Canelo needs to beat somebody like Cotto or Lara to get into the top 10-15. I really want to see him in with Kirkland and Williams. Paul would be very difficult for him imo.
