Matt korobov & is

I've heard Korobov's last few performances have been less than stellar. Almost like he's regressed.

Sillakh is awesome

 

Korobov certainly doesn't seem to be progressing as expected. On the back of his amateur achievements alone, he seemed like a sure-fire bet to be one of the top 160lb'ers.

Even early on in his pro career though, he didn't blow me away and I haven't seen much improvement. There's a lot of talent at Middleweight and he seems like he's getting left behind. Maybe they should hink about taking a chance with him and throwing him in with another prospect? Perhaps McEwan who, although he's lost to Lee and Quillen, would give us a better idea of where he is.

Sillakh is excellent. I wouldn't mind seeing him against the Cloud-Campillo winner.

 

He hasn't improved at all and the promoter knows it. That's is why He continues to fight cab drivers and 8 rounders.

 

Is he still being trained by McCallum?

 

I watched him get beaten by Josh Snyder in AC... he certainly looked ordinary to me

 

Korobov has gone nowhere over the past few years.
His opponent choice is laughably bad.

 

Korobov really looked like ass in the last fight I saw him in...back in June/Julyish I believe.

 

He made the worst mistake developing in america, he should of went to germany were they actually take the time to develope european boxers, i not sure what he thinks he will get from america, maybe after a few years in the pros he should of came to the USA, but he needed to develope in germany, or australlia...tyszu, klitschkos, sturm just name a few that would have never got as far without the fan support they got in there respected areas.

 

I think Sillakh is a much better prospect than Korobov. I'm not impressed with Korobov at all, I think he is much more suited to the amateur system than the professional ranks. Maybe he picks up a world title at some point but I don't see him holding it for long.


I think Sillakh has the chance and ability to be special. I also really like N'Jikam a lot, I think he will be better than Golovkin.

 

The thing with Korobov is that he isn't elite in any one area. He has average speed, power, defense, IQ, footwork, etc. Simply put, he just isn't a special fighter.

 

Completely agree that Sillakh is way beyond Korobov at this point. Sillakh is fighting legit competition, Korobov is fighting tune up opponents.


But, I don't think N'Jikam is nearly as good as Golovkin.

 

You're wrong about everything except his power which does seem to be average. Problem is he's using American trainers who like always are trying to change his style which he's had for 320 fights, big suprise it isn't working. Korobov beat Syllakh btw.

Any word on Korobov yet?
Wouldn't be surprised if there's another fight with Findley.
