Hamed wasnt over rated, he underperformed. Big difference. Watch any of his fights when he was young and tell you arnt impressed.

While Hamed was certainly a puncher, his game was limited! He didnt have ALL AROUND GAME:yikes He got spanked vs the only ELITE guy he faced, fought a LOUSY FIGHT vs Calvo, and zipped off to a career of being an *******, drunk driving, amongst various other charges (strippers/prostitutes).

Now if he was an ELITE fighter worth remembering? He would have not left the game that way. Instead he let remain that while he had A level Power, he's a B LEVEL Fighter at a low weight.

hamed was a very good fighter who unified and dominated the FW division over a good six year period. HOF fame material and one of the finest fighters the UK has exported over the past 15-20 years.

it's amazing how peoples sense of reason goes completely out of the window when hamed's name comes up. they can never separate the boxer from the man.

Hameds win over Ingle is bigger than his win over Kelly. Americans cant see outside thier own boarders so this dosent suprise me. No doubt he chose Lacy over Calzaghe too.

 

hamed was the most exciting fighter to come out of britain. not the best, but definitely the most fun to watch.

people really should try reading the threads they are posting in.

 

it was hardly an "ass woopin", yeah barrera beat him, but it wasn't one sided. people remember the fight differently to what actualy happened because the fight and result was different to what most people expected.
