Froch is open to a check hook counter watch for ward to land it alot up till he stops froch and shocks the world. Froch has a great chin but ward is a sharp shooter who is going to hit froch cleanly all fight. He may stop Carl in something Carl does not see. Carl has a punchers chance and might land big. He has very good punching power. Froch defense is a car smash waiting to happened seriously. He tends to have his lead hand Low and he also has a bad habit of lifting his chin up when pressed. I know there are plenty of mistakes froch has in his locker lol. But most people don't realize his weakness is his body. He cant seem to take them body attacks watch for ward to go straight for frochs body. Now if I was training froch I would tell him to press ward but at range with his jab. Froch jab can be lazy. Ward will be looking to counter and then hold him when froch gets close. So my game plan would be to press ward and fire the shots off right after ward throws his punchers as he try's to hold. He has to close the gap and try to drive uppercuts through wards defence. Just to try to out work him. All so keep complaining to ref about the holding
Not yet but I do think unlike dirrell ward will land big through out the fight. And it don't matter how good your chin is when your defence is as bad as froch u get hit cleanly by fighters of wards class. This fight is how many can froch take. It does not take alot to have someone on shakey legs Froch has lot of bad habits that wards trainers must of been having a field day on the game plan
One thing froch has is will power. He can't afford to have a lazy jab Watch ward take it to Carl's body
It does not matter if u got feather dusters for hands keep touching that button and at some point it will brake
If froch fights sloppy like he did against dirrell then yeah its possible he could get stopped late, but im doubting thats gonna happen. Carl must work everything off of his jab and not get thrown off his game plan by wards butting etc. I think carl can out jab ward.
Froch's jab is his one chance in this fight. Ward is the much better jabber: faster, sharper. But if Froch can mess up Ward's rhythm (like Abraham did in the first couple of rounds of Ward v AA with his jab) Froch will have a chance. But it's a slim chance.
Froch does not have bad defense. He knows his distances, he knows how to use angles, he moves his head. There is a reason no one knocked him out before and it's not just his chin. Abraham couldn't land clean on him and neither could Johnson.
I think Froch is a better jabber and I also think Froch is a better brawler on the inside. I think Ward if he wins will have to box a technical masterpiece where he jumps in, lands his punches and then jumps back out. This in and out style is the only way I see him beating Froch. He's not going to win a jabbing contest with a guy with longer reach and a better jab than him. He's not going to have the power to really back Froch up so he will be under pressure all night and will have to fight backing up a lot of the time. It's not going to be an easy night for Ward and while I wont say Ward is going to lose I think it's a very even fight where if Ward doesn't bring his A game he could not only lose but could be knocked out.
Froch also has a very good uppercut which has been a little under used in his last few fights and I saw Wards kd against Boone came from one. Could end up a factor if Ward hangs that chin out during one of his lunges.
Oh there's no doubt froch can bang the reason he has not been down is cause all froch opponents have felt that power. But if ward comes out like he did against Kessler. Targets Carl's body and capitailize on frochs mistakes when froch is off balance. How many can u take
