    Style.

    Lewis had none.

At the end of the day, boxing is a spectator sport. Most casual boxing fans just want to see boxers punch the **** outta each other and KOs. Tyson was steamrolling opponents like you never seen before and had those picture perfect KOs whilst Lewis was about safety first and putting people to sleep with his poncing around.

Mike Tyson was by far the best boxer-fighter brought up in the World in the last 30 years or so. The combo punching, the excellent footwork, coordination, the power and speed, the aggressiveness and excellent defense out on offense. Tyson demolished a whole generation of champs in Berbick(RIP), Smith, Thomas, Tucker, Holmes, Spinks, Tubbs, Williams, Bruno, Ruddock, still beat Bruno after a long layoff, Seldon and the rest we know... Lewis was heavy handed and technically sound but he just won titles facing guys like washed up Tony Tucker and Ray Mercer, once titlist and former Tyson's sparring partner Oliver McCall, a new generation of heavyweights in guys like Briggs, Golota, Grant, Jackson, Rahman, one or two good fighters of the time in Bruno in Cardiff, Ruddock in London and long time many times titlist Evander Holyfield. Nobody can say Lewis was a better boxer just cause he caught Tyson sinking to him, and to guys like Williams, McBride...

Yes, but just READING about Lewis makes me sleepy.

One of the most boring fighters in the history of the sport. I'd rather watch Wlad Klitschko read Proust.

    Better Skilled Boxer? Yes.

Mike Tyson, in his prime, was a force of nature. Couple that with his dimensions and his style? Amazing. This is far more impressionable than being a solid Boxer. Then when his skills declined? His personality became another force of nature. The man's total aura was probably the most intimidating we have seen in 50 years. Maybe more.

Mike Tyson is more popular than most active Boxer's today.

its funny to see that some people think Tyson was only a muscular bully who could punch but I never saw a fast/accurate heavyweight like him it was scary

I see it like this, he was more appealing to general public, meaning public that does not truly fallow boxing, and they see he KO everyone many of them in first round and for them he is super human, and that fans never watched him fight 12 rounds, just watched HL of his KOs, plus he was bad boy, was in jail for **** and people remember those kind of things, while Lennox always kept his private life private.

No kidding, both Holyfield and Tyson were better than the fragile-chinned Lewis.

prime Tyson would have eaten Lewis alive... Tyson was a monster... nothing would stand in his way... I to this day reckon that he has been ****ed up by Don King because nobody wanted to fight him..
