He proved tonight he can be an exciting fighter, fought clean and is clearly the #1 at SMW. Also one hell of a classy guy. Froch is a brave warrior but just had no answer for Wards speed, I thought he won 2 maybe 3 rounds. Good to see him dignified in defeat but I think he should put the idea of a rematch out of his mind and look for a fight with Bute, he aint getting any younger and I dont think he can beat Andre.
andre is a far superior boxer. i agree...no need for a rematch. i respect froch a lot. hes a warrior and always comes to fight. he should try to secure a fight with bute. that has potential to be fight of the year.
Always thought a Bute-Froch matchup is more appealing then a Ward-Bute bout. Carl needs a comeback fight in Nottingham first though maybe the top 2 can get it on in the meantime
It was only exciting because Froch was in the ring. Froch is always exciting fighter, but what Ward did was still enjoyable to watch from a boxing perspective. Put Ward in the ring with Bute, = boring fight. Put Froch in the ring with Bute = FOTY candidate.
Ward fought brilliantly,and was a clear winner.He gets props from me,because i genuinely believed Froch would limit the damage in the early rounds,and get to him in the later rounds.Ward was just too slippery,every time Froch cornered him,he'd clinch turn and land the left hook on Frochs blindside.Even when he was tiring at the end,and eating a few big shots,he was still in control and didn't allow himself to be cornered. Better man won on the night.
What did Froch do that was exciting, exactly? I find technical excellence exciting, thought Ward was a joy to watch. Froch did practically nothing of note in the entire fight.
