I really wanna see this, Ward would be too fresh for him but would learn a great deal in the process

hopkins has already made it clear hes never fighting ward. at this stage of their career...bernard knows he cant keep pace with ward. ward would win a wide decision.

Who takes this? Probably Ward because of youth.

But I dont think I'd be awake by the decision in this fight. :tired

Hopkins has nothing for Ward...nothing, he'd get beaten badly.

Ward would beat him at his own game and make him look real old

Hopkins is too far gone to beat Ward at this stage.

I'm a big time Hopkins fan, but none of his tricks work against Ward.

Master vs. Student. The student comes out on top at this juncture.

I actually think Ward would win via TKO late as he his calculated pressure completely gases Hopkins until he really has nothing left and the ref has to stop it.

Let's say Hopkins around 1997-2001 gets transported to the future via a time machine, moves up to 168, and faces the current Ward...who do you think takes that one?

Hopkins headbutts Ward, throws himself on the canvas afterwards and complains that he can't see and hurt and injured his hymen and labia in the fall.

I have no idea. Like two clones fighting each other. What do you think?

Yeah, it'd be a closely contested fight. I think Hopkins was more seasoned technically than Ward, had better footwork, and was sharper offensively from range (especially with the straight right hand). Strong and crafty enough to give at least as good as he gets on the inside too, and great at setting traps. Ward at 168 is a more versatile fighter than anybody Hopkins beat at middleweight though in my opinion, but I'd say B-Hop wins a close, but clear decision.

Hopkins now though wouldn't have the tools to hang close with Ward over 12. He gets pretty sloppy and tired later in fights, and pulls away from exchanges with his hands down. Ward would jump him after about the 5th or 6th and make him work at a pace he can't fight at anymore. The fight I want to see now is Ward-Dawson, even more so than Ward-Bute.
