Why not? Put Bute in with Froch, Kessler, or Dirrell. Then he can get the top guy. Makes sense to me.

 

I think Bute vs Kessler and Froch should take on Dirrel again.

I say Bute vs Froch or Kessler. Even though a win against Dirrell would be more impressive than both those guys, you may as well go for the less skilled boxer who has the much better record. There's nothing wrong with a progression for Bute, to go from Johnson (his best win yet) to Froch or Kessler, to the guy on the very top. Bute would do well with the experience of fighting a true A level guy anyway.

 

Ward should just fight him. If not let Bute fight somebody good (Glen Johnson was good enough) and Ward can fight his mandatory (Dirrell)

 

how can u claime andre is ducking ANYONE when bute only fought 1 of the S6 contestants old ass glenn johnson. **** that. he he needs to fight the S6 loser Froch then fight Kessler then hell qualify to have a shot at wards 2 titles

 

It's not even so much about him having to prove himself, it's about taking your chances at winning against a lesser opponent who's still at least top 5 in the division then going for the gold with the experience gained. I don't know who Bute wants next but going after a guy as skilled as Ward right now when he can instead get very possible wins against Froch or Kessler isn't a great idea.

And even though it's not Bute's fault he wasn't part of the tournament I still understand what Wards saying about how he's kinda been on the DL waiting at the sidelines only to suddenly get a shot at 2 World titles. Fact is, all these supersix guys are free now, Bute doesn't need to be gunning for the number one for his next fight.

 

Bute has the IBF belt. Ward should want it.

Let him be. All these guys worked their asses off in the Super 6. You would probably feel a little entitled about what you have to do after killing yourself to win that tournament with people clamoring "What about Bute" as if he's actually done anything yet. Bute fight will happen eventually, it's the biggest fight at the weight. Ward doesn't have to fight him next, but should fight him soon.

 

A win against either Froch OR Kessler is enough... isn't beating either one decent enough proof of his skill level? To go from Johnson to Froch or Kessler, and in the past beating Miranda and Bika more impressively than Ward did. Bute's record isn't amazing but ****, it's better than Dirrell's.

 

Coward? He's just won the toughest tournament in the division, beating the two best fighters on the way while Bute has been sitting up in Canada fighting cans and former sparring partners. Let Bute step it up and fight someone serious and give Ward a damn break.
