Well Well Well Hopefully this farce of a performance by Froch will put an end to the myth that somehow he is an "elite" fighter. I'll give him credit for the lucky run he has had and to some extent him wanting the big fights, but eventually he couldn't back up the **** talk. Funny how he starts talking about his "legacy" after the ward debacle, how he had an amazing run of fights and that "even elite level fighters get beat" lol atsch Hey Carl, we the public and your performances judge if your an "elite" level fighter, not you and the ****ing soundbites that you spew form your mouth
You don't become the WBC SMW champion of the world by being a talentless Boxer, mate. Of course Froch is elite, it would be stupid to think otherwise.
Carl is a world class fighter just because he got beat by someone arguably in top 5 P4P makes him a farce?
Carl is "elite" for the UK, but definatley NOT on the world stage. He was thoroughly outclassed by Dirrell and should of lost that one, since then he has not put on one stand our performance that even suggests he is an Elite fighter
Carl is one of the worst boxers you'll see in a long time but like it or not he is elite and one of the best at 168. Carl has no defence, can't fight behind a full guard, can't catch a shot, flicks his jab, falls in behind his right hand, sweeping left hook, chin up in the air, crosses his feet, falls in behind his jab, often doesn't look at his opponent..... It really is just frightening. Lucky for him he has a chin, power, stamina and the standard of boxing is so low that ALOT of fighters find him awkward when he really is amateurish (I use this term loosely because most amateurs at any level box better than Carl). Without Carls chin, power, stamina and attitude he would have lost to Kessler, Ward but also Dirrell, Johnson, Adamu, Magee and Taylor. However Carl isn't the first guy in boxing to get by on ability. Don't forget guys like Ricardo Mayorga who is a horrible boxer but also has a chin, power and macho approach.
Yeah, what a fraud. 28-2 (20) with a record of 5-2 at world class and a few wins over European class types.
You underestimate Froch's ability. He's unorthodox with a lot of what he does but that doesn't make him an untalented boxer. Yeah, he's got good physical assets but he's not a knockout artist, he doesn't throw a huge amount of punches, he's slow, he's not athletic - In fact, the only physical asset which is exceptional is his chin. He has a great heart and fighting mentality but let's not make him out to be some freak of nature who has no skills. His physical attributes aren't great and he has an unorthodox but very effective style.
carl may look nothing to look at but get in the ring with the man you would have a different perspective, so strong tough and awkward, won a bronze at tthe world games at 4x2's so cannot be so slow and have such poor skills, top 5 super middle in the world, not bad for 'lemonade talent'
I agree in some senses, I do feel he's been incredibly lucky with the guys he's come across to earn this 'elite' rep. Abraham - Can't box at all, all he does is load up on a few power shots, not even many of them. Dirrell - He lost this fight. Jermain Taylor - Already been beat twice more impressively by Pavlik, a faded force. Pascal - Showed he can be easily outworked by a middle aged man. I know we can sit around all day taking peoples records apart but Froch's does seem incredibly lucky in that people tended to inflate the above fighters above their actual worth and the actual best fighters all beat him or got robbed. As for his skillset, Achilles broke that down pretty accurately.
