Why would a driver that got his driver license with good marks drive drunk or cross the street on the red color of the light?
Would you believe there are such people?
It must be one of the stupidest "A, therefore B" arguments I ever heard in my entire life.

You're going to use an analogy about drunk driving to suggest Ward is ducking Bute? Come on, you know the point I'm trying to make. Ward has nothing to fear from Bute. Sure, he's quick and strong, but it's not like he's not faced that in his career before.

Ward beats Bute clearly. After last night I'm now fully sold on Ward, that guy is the truth. He took care of Froch with relative ease.

But quickly shut the Showtime interviewer up when he mentioned Bute's name. Ward is going on a Bute duck trip. Period. Let's start dealing with it now before we get our hope :verysad

Sorry to all the Froch fans, but I'm now a bit more convinced that Bute would have a field day with Froch. :D

It's a name Bute should get on his resume. It'd definitely be his biggest win, while still being not that dangerous a fight for him. If I was Bute I'd be trying to organise that next.

I think Bute beats Froch too, but struggles with him a lot more.

Again, Bute said he'd fight either, anytime, anywhere. He said he'd fight in NYC, also said he'd fight Ward in Oakland FFS.

Showtime calls the shots here. They are the bonus money incentive people, Bute's still under contract with them. Not sure about Ward.

Purely based on H2H attributes & skills, why exactly?

Ward has a better defence than Bute, and is better at turning opponents and nullifying their offence, he's also more versatile than Bute as well as a better inside fighter.

Bute hits harder and is better on the outside, neither which will trouble Froch as much because of his durability and great length/decent outside game too. I can see those killer body shots really hurting Froch though, Kessler managed to throw some clean hooks downstairs that looked like they troubled him.

At least that's how I see it.

I would agree that Froch would land a bit more on Bute than he did on Ward. Head movement and handspeed along with a good understanding of where Froch's most comfortable in terms of range, is what defines Carl Froch's nightmare opponent. Ward has tons of all 3. Bute's head movement has improved over the years, and his timing / control of range based on the shots he plans on throwing are pretty good. Add a more than decent pop in the counters he lands, and Froch could be in trouble - again, could.

I see Froch winning around 3 rounds against Bute in his best efforts to overwhelm Bute with combos, but no 'struggle' on Bute's part. There's also a chance for a Bute stoppage via body work IMO, which against Ward wasn't a viable possibility. Carl did get rocked a bit by some of the power rights Ward was landing in the mid rounds, but never came close to being in real trouble.

Ward-Bute will not be all that boring IMO, contrary to what some on here are assuming.

Yeah, maybe 'struggles' was a bit much. Great post.
