Four men who are currently active who might have a shot at beating Super Six winner Andre Ward (I'm sure there are others; please feel free to add to the list):

    1.

-- Quick, powerful. But can he hold up to Ward's inside game and tough tactics? I doubt it.

    2.

-- Superior athlete. Tall, long. Does he have the mental game to compete with Ward? Not sure about that.

-- This fight will never happen, according to Hopkins. I see this as a "Master vs Student" match-up because both men use similar tactics. I favor Hopkins, because of size and experience.

-- This could actually be a terrific fight. Dawson would probably have to get down to 168, however, for the bout to occur. Dawson's size and athleticism versus Ward's tough physical and mental game. I favor Ward here, but Dawson has the ability to beat almost anyone he faces.

    * Likelihood of Bute-Ward: Not anytime soon, I think. Too risky for both.

    * Likelihood of Dirrell-Ward: Didn't happen before, but could happen in the future

    * Likelihood of Hopkins-Ward: 00%

    * Likelihood of Dawson-Ward: Probably quite doubtful

Ward and Bute must fight each other quite soon or they will both look like women.

andre dirrell has no chance because he has no inside game.

    Good point on Dirrell-Ward.

I haven't seen Cleverly fight much, so I can't really comment on him.

Yeah, Johnson would be very interesting. Even now.

Bika. Yep, given their first meeting.

I do not know Golovkin. :think

Depending on how he does when he comes back, Dirrell could be the biggest rival for Ward. As of right now, it seems unlikely, but if he is able to get a few good wins against decent fighters under his belt, this may change.

I agree with timeout, Cleverly would beat Micky Ward. However I dont think he beats Andre Ward.

Ward would embarrass Dirrell. It's a mismatch.

    I disagree.

I think Dirrell has the best chance of anyone at 168 of beating Ward. He is much quicker than Froch, which would eliminate the biggest advantage Ward had in that fight.

I think depending on his conditioning, Dirrell could stay on his bike long enough to put some Rounds in the bank, and I don't think Ward hits hard enough late in the fight to trouble Dirrell.

Also, Ward isn't accurate enough. Froch was there to be hit, but Ward still missed a lot, and missed badly.

I think Andre is way too rough of a fighter inside for Dirrell. He would muscle him to the ropes and break him down ala Allen Green. Dirrell too soft mentally. Bute and Dawson have the best chance.
