Mientras la mayoría piensa en los días de fin de año, Henry Rivalta ya tiene planes para los primeros del próximo.

El conocido promotor romperá el hielo en el pugilismo con una velada que promete encender la mecha de este deporte en el sur de la Florida a partir del 7 de enero en el Hotel Westin Diplomat, en Hollywood, y que será transmitida a todo el país por Telefutura como parte de su serie “Sólo Boxeo’’.

“Me siento muy feliz de que Telefutura me haya elegido para comenzar el nuevo año’’, expresó Rivalta. “Estoy comenzando una nueva etapa en mi carrera y sé que el reto es muy grande, pero con el favor de Dios todo irá mejor en el 2012. Los fanáticos van a quedar muy complacidos con este programa’’.

Aunque todavía quedan detalles por definir, Rivalta pretende montar una cartelera con algunos de los guerreros más importantes del sur de la Florida, como Ed Paredes y Azea Augustama, y especialmente algunos cubanos como Yunier Dorticós, Yuniesky González, Humberto Savigne y Jessy Cruz.

Por otra parte, es alentador que Rivalta se lance de lleno en esta aventura, pues el año a punto de terminar resultó demasiado magro en términos de actividad para los púgiles del área de Miami.

Para Rivalta será la velada número 39 de su carrera como promotor, pero marca el reinicio de su trayectoria en solitario. En los últimos años, el empresario formó parte de la compañía Dream Team Boxing, de la cual se llevó un puñado de buenas memorias, pero para él ya era hora de emprender vuelo individual.

“Le estoy agradecido a Dream Team, porque con ella hicimos cosas muy positivas’’, agregó Rivalta. “Simplemente, creo que ahora puedo desarrollar algunas ideas que tengo. Mi intención siempre ha sido traer boxeo de calidad a la región, y eso no va a cambiar’’.

Con el objetivo de cumplir esas ideas, Rivalta ha formado una nueva entidad: Acquinity Sports y su primera fuego será la velada del sábado 7 de enero.

“Todo saldrá perfecto’’, indicó el promotor. “Sólo le pedimos a los fanáticos que nos apoyen. No se van a arrepentir’’.

We agree to disagree then. Whatever we think however does not change the fact that the only way to get a no decision early in a fight is an accidental foul ending the contest, but there was no foul here.

Solis needs to learn from this and keep his weight under 250 between fights, around 235 fight night. He was such an incredible force at the amateurs I don't want to hear he can't get in shape or 260lbs is better because that's BS. Do it properly like everyone else who has to make weight, look the the Klitschkos themselves, they GAIN weight during training, and stay 100% between fights.

You cant compare the bodies of Solis and Klitschkoes. People are different ,some can eat and drink without putting on weight others put on kilos eating and drinking like ordinary people. Solis should get more disipline beteen fights ,i do agree on that.

 

Well the Klitschkos don't eat and drink, neither Hopkins or Ward or Johnson and they do just fine, it has nothing to do with genetics, it's how you handle yourself. 220lbs for Solis is fantasy but 230 fight night and 240 between bouts is doable, he just needs freaking disciplin.

Regarding Gamboa-Juarez, I just don't think Top Rank will ever start promoting Gamboa properly. He's an awesome boxer-puncher wasting his prime with these fights. Some quality names but if you think he already could've fought JuanMa, Marquez, John, Mikey Garcia, Caballero, Rojas, Gonzalez, Gamboa's resume is pretty thin. And it's not his fault.

 

Yeah they look good but Perez is lazy and all three are really inactive to what the should be especially Perez after winning prizefighter

 

Gamboa seems to suffer from this Arum thing. Talking bigfights but put his stars in against weak opponents. "Chavez jr gonna fight Martinez" Canelo gonna fight Cotto or Mayweather" Gamboa gonna fight Juanma" and so on. Arum afraid of his start gonna lose and so he gonna lose money himself. I think Pac suffer from Arum protection what if Floyd beat Pac ? Then the Magic/big money gone.

 

Despaigne just lost a UD to Cornelius White.
His fight against Miranda is over, he is a very nice guy, but he didnt belong to the elite of the division.

Completely agree there. In fact, the reason why I'm not a Solis fan is his lack of discipline. Gotta give it to him tho', his talent is something rare in the heavy weight scene, and I'm not talking about now only, but historically... such a waste.

Unlike other times Cuban Fighters want to only stay in Miami. Few years back they were willing to go to Las Vegas examples Julio Garcia and Yankee Azcuay. After Mariel there were a few cuban boxers in LA and of course before then all over the World like Mantequilla in Mexico or a few others in Spain. The problem is that there are not enough fights in Miami. Tampa a much smaller city has more boxing cards than Miam Dade county. These boxers need to not only fight outside of Miami but also consider relocating out side of Miami.

Garcia has got a fight on a showtime card in the states at the end of december. Nothin on perez. Big year for them. Need to be active in 2012
