So you are gonna praise a guy who is already considered by most the greatest of all time. That's like an equivalent of that Mexico billionaire or Bill Gates being given a $5 dollar tip.
Ali also LOST a number of those "career defining fights", despite getting a few absolute GIFT decisions....Norton for example...more than once. Take away Ali's undeniable mega-personality, and all of his self-aggrandisement.....not to mention his far left politics, which made him the darling of the mush-head Liberals everywhere, and what do you have? You have a VERY good HW, but by NO STRETCH of the imagination is he the best ever, or even close. He couldn't even beat a 205 pound Ken Norton when he (Ali) was in his absolute PRIME...at age 31 (again, he got a GIFT split decision in that fight, watch the fight and tell me that Ali won...go ahead). Leon Spinks beat him, and ali was only 36..Wlad's age...so you can't really say he was over the hill. Holmes of course destroyed him....when he was 38...two years younger than Vitali. It pisses me off that other greats...guys like Larry Holmes....are passed over by casual boxing fans who buy into the Ali mythology. And that's what it is...mythology. If you think that a HW in his prime, who lost to those all-time-great HWs, Leon Spinks and Ken Norton is the best ever, we live on different planets.
