If MOSLEY had stopped off at 140 and fought TSZYU in 1999?

Toss up, Mosley was a beast then but Tyzyu style was all wrong for Mosley, too bad he was heavy roiding at that time if not he might have made a career their at 140, because I always felt he was too small to be facing those natural 147 pounders that were roaming the division in his time

Am I the only one who notices have huge Mosley was when he first got to 147, but later in his career his opponents towered over Mosley, while he look like he could make 140, nobody can't tell me he wasn't roiding then

Kostya was a solid champion but pretty over rated. A fighter who fought in lines and came straight forward.... the type of fighter who Shane has never ever lost too. Shane could take punches from Margarito, Oscar, and Vargas, no reason to think Kostya could hurt him. Shane had much better speed and combinations, and more heart. Mosley is better than Vince Phillips in every way....

 

Shane would have ****ed him worse than Vince Phillips did. Kostya would have had no answer at all for Shanes offense power or speed. Watching Shane back at 135 was like watching an angel in disguise. The dude was amazing.

 

:thumbsup Grossly overrated by Hatton fans. Kostya was nice but i cannot understand why he's put on such a lofty pedestal. There's no way he would have beaten a prime SSM.

 

Well, Mosley didn't roid until he moved up to 154. You should be able to tell by his body. He got bigger on the move up to 147, but he was still a lanky guy. Compare current 147 Mosley to vs. Oscar 147 Mosley. Roids do those kinds of things to the body, but Mosley was still a scrawny and lanky 147-pounder at first.

That being said, I think Tszyu had the style to beat Mosley. Mosley is specifically the type of fighter Tszyu relished in facing. I think Shane could conceivably win, but it's probably 60-40 Tszyu.

 

I think a prime Mosley was way too fast with too good of a chin for Kostya. It would be an epic brawl, and Mosley would come out on top by beating Kostya to the punch (with hand/foot speed) more times than Kostya's excellent timing would beat him to the punch.

 

KT is my boy but I'd probably have to go with SSM. Never thought Tszyu would have beaten Oscar either and Shane beat a prime Oscar soon thereafter.

 

tyzu is a very very good fighter but i think he gets a little more credit than he deserves around here. can't see mosley stopping him but i do see him beating tyzu. 7-5 rounds maybe 8-4. mosley was a force of nature in his prime.

What a fight that would have been. I'd pick Mosley but only just.

 

I don't think there are many boxers who could handle Mosley's physical abilities at 140 in the history of boxing. Tszyu included. Mosley was an absolute beast to the very definition of the word @ lightweight and 140. Tszyu was more well rounded but he couldn't handle that Mosley.
