Let's go back to this fight in September. Ever since Ortiz is back in the public eye again and getting ready to promote his fight vs. Berto, I'm seeing a lot of talk about the Mayweather fight again. A lot of people seem sure that Ortiz won round 2 and was about to win round 4 before the KO. Did anyone not see it this way? Round 4 had Ortiz connected on a few shots, but to me, the majority of them were glancing. I easily had rounds 1, 3, and 4 to Mayweather, and round 2 I still am not 100% sure I'd give it to Ortiz, but out of all of them, I guess maybe round 2 was his "best" round of that short fight.
Floyd won every round. I guess if you almost land 3 punches on Floyd in a round, then that means you won it since he usually doesn't get hit :conf
The problem is most people can't be objective when it comes to Mayweather. I didn't give Ortiz anything, he was being backed up (how he out weighed more than 160 Lbs on the night and HE had the K.O power) he was being made to miss, then being hit constantly with Floyds right hand. The forth was Ortiz best round but don't get confused with losing a round "better than the last" meaning he won the round. Ofcourse Ortiz was pressuring what else was he going to do, but I don't understand why people were getting so excited. How many times have we seen Mayweather on the ropes verses De La Hoya, Hatton, Judah, Baldomir? The fact is if Ortiz was having such success why did he feel the need to launch himself into Mayweather lip? It was out of frustration he wasn't landing anywhere near enough. Plus Ortiz was rocked and not Mayweather in the forth.
Mayweather came out blazing in the 4th. I've seen Mayweather's entire career and I dont think I have ever seen him that aggressive.
EXACTLY. When is the last time you have seen Mayweather throw more than a 3 shot combination? He threw a 5/6 shot combination that rocked Victor that round.
Mayweather won them all. The 4th round was sort of the closest round. Mayweather came out to a flyer, and still matched Ortiz shot for shot up until the very end of the round and the head butt. Ortiz, who picked up the label as the fastest and best starter in the sport, and known to drop off/tire as the rounds go on...was apparently going to come on strong the latter rounds, and get better as the bout went on. :conf
Mayweather won all 4, you can make a case for 2 going to Ortiz, but that's only really because he had a better round, than his others. Will have to watch again though (I watched it today)
Ortiz had his moments in some of those rounds, but I still thought Floyd deserved them. It was a shame the fight ended early in that fashion, because it was starting to get interesting. Victor is such a mental midget.
1 sided mismatch Ortiz wasn't connecting with **** hence why he decided to go for the battering ram technique!!
Floyd won every round very obviously. Ortiz looked to be doing a bit better in the 4th until he turned gay.
In round 4 Ortiz landed, Floyd went to the rope and picked up everything Ortiz threw. The only thing Ortiz could do was headbutt.
