Its good to see a lot of boxing articles being put up on the rte website lately ,a big step up from recent years International and National boxing interest
why is fitzy my hero???? and i wasnt at that fight, couldnt have been as mental as castlebar? dolphil would still be running shows.. that coyle card was a sell out and tv sucess.
He beat Page by the skin of his teeth and no more. There was only one person in the venue who thought Dallas beat Page and he happened to be the man that mattered! :good
Think the cubans get a lot of undeserved stick on here, if there were three irish guys we would all think they were the greatest thing since John L Sullivan! All three have some nice wins on their records. People give out about them not being active enough but Garcia aside Perez and Acosta have been more active than most irish pros this year and now Garcia is getting some good exposure on us tv with the Taylor. Read a piece yesterday that said Perez had been sparring Deontey Wilder, would love to have seen that.

I've always been more of a fan of the amatuer scene (as bizarre as that is to everyone else) but flippin hek I've a new found respect for the pros. Did 7 rounds of sparring on Tuesday and am still in bits from it! bloody hell it's tough.
I'd be the same as yourself...im a much bigger fan of the amateur scene! But i've always wondered myself how in the name of god those pros do it for 12x3 min rounds. I know the heavyweights can be slow and dey often just throw da odd jab here and there, but fellas like Frampton, Casey, etc... pure intensity for the duration! Dunno how they do it
Im a big fan of the amateurs meself but the respect I have for the pros is unreal, I did a bit of White collar there a while ago and I still cant belive how some of them go 12 rounds .
Coyle versus Spike would be an absolute belter,They could hold it in a phone box.Would they both be up for it?It gain huge interest aswell id say.
