Huck is a neanderthal. I really dislike his style. Put a jab in his face and he'll think he's seen an alien.
I like Ola Afolabi, always have. Just frustrated me with his sparring partner antics. In all honesty he was a bit of a disgrace against Huck at times. I mean that in the sense he had the beating of him in most departments but was far too lazy at times, thats criminal in boxing to waste talent like that.
:deal I'd go as far to say that it's a harder matchup than a Cleverly rematch (assuming Tony can still do 175lbs well I think he would take it) Ola is a skilled counter puncher with knock out power and a good chin, he's a handful for anybody at Cruiser.
my mate sparred him as a kid, he said his strengths are his jab and chin. said he ate big shots in gym and would laugh. as you say jukebox he'd mess cleverly about, clown him and hurt him were talking about a cw who throws shots from different angles. if he came to win he'd beat clev imho.
I think Bellew should move up, he'd be a fair bit stronger and punch harder in the low 190lbs range. I know he insists that he does the weight fine but I've seen cocktail sticks thicker than his legs. The problem is that nobody really gives a damn about cruiserweights over here, it's either 175 or HW if you want to be somebody.
^ this, it's either drain yourself to 175lbs or move up to 200lbs, but there's more money at LH than CW..so it's pick and chose!
He could probably beat most HW's with his jab and footwork alone, weighing in the 190's. There aren't many (if any) HW's outside of the Klitschkos that are as good as Cleverly in pretty much any department. I still need to re-watch that fight and score it, from my seat I had Bellew winning 7-5. Alright, he's not Roy Jones, but he doesn't have to be. Most current HW's are crap. If someone as limited as Huck can look himself in the mirror and be confident of his chances then there's no reason why Tony shouldn't. He's more skilled and pretty much the same size, after all.
His last fight was unimpressive. Sure he got the ko but he is a touch awkward and a fluid fighter could do him. Povetkin assertiveness and variety in attack should be too much.
