Margarito was definitely coming on late but at the same time when you look at the first fight Marg did not NEARLY do enough damage to force a late stoppage.
It would have probably gotten dicey for Cotto but he would still win fairly comfterble looking at him still firing hard shots on Marg.

Think the main thing was that Marg would have lost his eye continueing, not that he would care.

Could Margarito have koed Cotto in the last rounds?...maybe...could Cotto have won by a shut out and got true revenge?... maybe...Thats the point this fight did not do either fighter justice, a 3rd fight with neutral everything, tie breaker, do or die, winner takes all!

Heart of a warrior? Iron chin? All meaningless at that point in the fight, how does a fighter blind in the right eye defend against a fighter with what could be a devestating left hook? I maintain my stance on this, it would have been worse for Margo in the last rounds. Cotto could have started planting his feet and really letting that left go. He was already starting to. The only thing being turned around was Cheatos nugget. No tie breaker, no nothing, no more paydays for Margo.

What's that phrase they use on that football show now? Oh yeah,,

    C'MON MAN!!!!!!!

Is that what they call boxing now? It's no longer the sweet science, it's no longer hit without getting hit, it's no longer being slick, slipping punches, making your opponent miss, keeping them guessing, making them chase you down just to end up eating a few jabs and punches. Seriously? Go watch mma. Boxing is an art. Give credit where credit is due. Cheato got outboxed, plain and simple.

Wow, and I was under the suspicion that I was the only one who saw this!

Margarito was being rocked on the 9th, and I was starting to think that a KO was about to take place on the 10th or 11th.

    He (Margarito) had no chance.

Margo's only key to victory surrounds his durability, pressure and determination. Without those intangibles working in harmony a fighter of Cotto's above average comprehensive skill level will almost always outbox him. Plain and simple Cotto was able to adjust and Margo came with the same game plan. This is not knocking Margo but he's not the brightest human being nor is his training staff, this was magnifide during the rematch.....in my opinion Margo was becoming more desparate and his dedicated fan base interpeted this as him coming on when in reality his was getting tagged with more flush shots stopping him in his tracks while Cotto continued to nullify his pressure by getting in his chest. I find it amazing that some fans don't realize this especially since we are almost a month removed from the fight and you've had the chance to revisit the bout. Biased is as biased does....

Sad bunch of ****s those margerito nut huggers. he lost in dominated fashion. His health was on the line, there was no option but to stop the fight. Margeritos fight with pacquiao should have been stopped early aswell, even with pacquaio showing somewhat level of mercy he was receiving long term damage

Margarito has been exposed. He is 0-3 against quality fighters after being exposed for his loaded wraps.

He is a cheater who is nothing without his loaded gloves.

All the haters who make excuses about the 10oz gloves.....did you forget that Cotto was utilizing the same 10oz gloves? ****off!

Maybe he had some illegal handwraps that turn into plaster later in the fight, not sooner.
