People, no one beats Rigondeaux period! Rigo was considered the best P4P boxer " in the amateurs " for his entire career that lasted about 10 years; and if you are saying well that's the amateurs you better think again. Do people realize how many great amateurs there are at the World Level to compete against? Hundreds

As a matter of fact winning an Olympic Gold is possibly harder than winning a pro Title. Yes that's right, in the amateurs a fighter has to fight back to back to back on the same day sometimes without ever seeing his opponent nor seeing footage of him. And to win a Gold you have to win all of your bouts ( about 6 or 7 ) against the best amateurs in the World.

Seems to me like Donaire has more speed and is naturally the better athlete but Rigo has the basics and power. Rigo also has good combination.

I'm goin against the grain here...

I think people will be very surprised at how easy Donaire beats Rigo. I'm not saying he will stop Rigo BUT imo he beats him handily.

I guess maybe I haven't c'n enough of Rigo bt what I have c'n doesn't change my opinion

 

It doesn't matter how many times one shows Rigo's achievements in the Amateurs , there's always some idiot who will say : " Oh that was the amateurs , this is the pros " like if competing at that level , even for the ams , was easy . I can't honestly see Rigo losing to ANY 122 kl at the moment , be it Donaire , Arce or whoever , as a matter of fact I can also see Rigo dominating the 126's too if he choses to move up ( and that includes Gamboa if he stays ) . Peace .

 

Nope don't see Donaire beating him.... Donaire seems to have a problem opening up his opponents and can only really tee off when they open up. With Rigo.. that DEFINITELY not going to happen

 

I like Rigo, but dude that clip was not "beautiful Boxing" in any sense of the word. That was being in with an intimidated can and dropping rear hand bombs.

At his age and level of experience there is no reason that he isn't a world champion now. He fights far to little and the competition level has not been what it should be. I understand ad******g, but he started pro at the twilight of many guys' career.

I also wonder how he will do in a REAL fight. Seriously, the last decent opponent I saw him in with he was dropped with a jab and proceeded to run the whole fight for a decision. I don't know if he is exactly what people would like to believe he is. I hope to be proven wrong though.

Think of Rigondeaux as a Narvaez but, bigger, more speed, better offensive, lethal puncher, better defensive an all around better boxer...

My resume is better than Rigo's. And I've never even boxed. The dude fights jokes.

Rigo has the best 1 punch body shot in the game and you will see against Ramos what he can do. Hurtado had plenty of power and plenty of KO's in his resume, it was his lack of a good chin that didn't help him. Either way, Hurtado KO'd the beast Bailey, gave Kostya Tszyu 2 knockdowns in the first and even without being prepared to face him. Hurtado was World Champ but wasn't fortunate enough to defend it.

The Cubans are rapidly demonstrating what Country has the best boxing school, just ask Cotto why he hired an ex Cuban amateur Coach to help him beat Margarito.

 

You probably forgot ( or ignore ) that he only lost 1 tight fight in 10 years ( who he then later easily avenged ) at the absolute highest World amateur level or you are just here to make Rigo look bad. Rigo has the strongest amateur record of anyone out there and fought Cordoba ( an ex-World Champion with 40+ fights ) and beat him in just his 6th pro fight. In his 5th fight he also played with a very experienced pro with 37+ fights, you my friend are just here to waste time. :-(

Rigondeaux is nothing more than another stepping stone for Suavecito on his collision course with pac/mayweather in 2013.

 

Interesting comparison puerto. Always liked Hurtado.
