WTF, Andre Ward used to be a belt carrier for RJJ?

Explains why Ward attempted to imitate Roy early in his career until he started getting knocked around the ring and decided Hopkins' ass ugly style suited him best.

I thought this was common knowledge. Roy even promoted ward when he debuted. Roy was touted Ward as the next Roy Jones if you go back and listen his first couple fights.

I guess you would have to be a fan or one who followed Roy to know how Ward was around back then.

Roy Jones is his idol. Ward got put down HARD ealry in his career trying his best to immitate Roy.

 

I remember watching the entire Jones career collection a couple years back & noticing this. I had to pause & rewind a couple times to make sure... I had no idea they were so close.

 

Is he still close with roy now?

 

I know right.

 

I peeped this like 3 weeks ago while watching some of RJ's other fights. I saw him in one of RJ's fight with no hair lol
