Why does Khan fade as the fight progresses?

He throw so many combos but don't have the stamina to keep that assualt up for 12 rounds. If you apply pressure, much like Peterson did and work the body, Khan will gas out, as we seen in several of his fights. He definitely not ready for the likes of a Mayweather. I doubt he would last a whole 12 rounds with Berto or Ortiz.

 

Weight issues?, over training? Could also be factors.

 

He never really settles in the ring. Wastes too much energy.

tough time inside, as a fight carries on most human beings slow down, when he slows it becomes more inside

he is an energy fighter as petersen proclaimed, his high energy style cannot be done every second of every round as he takes breathers and this keeps fighters in it

 

I disagree, He's suppose to be a world class Athlete, He has the top of the line training, conditioning coach, world class trainer, and sparring, and this fool is gassing , on a opponent that suppose to show him off ??

This is his second trainer, so whats the issue ? ether its Kahn or his trainers .

 

I don't think he does fade, to be honest. I think he won some of the late rounds against Peterson, and even when Maidana beat the hell out of him in the tenth round he was still able to avoid further danger in the eleventh and twelfth, while landing some decent shots of his own.

His problem isn't that he fades down the stretch...his problem is that he's quite a flawed fighter. He has excellent handspeed and good footspeed, but his footwork simply consists of running around the ring, he has little idea how to neutralise people in the pocket, his defence is leaky from both range and up close and he doesn't adapt well in the ring.

 

I dont think he fades or gasses persay...But he absolutely weakens.

And the obvious answer to why is, look how the man fights.

Always on his bike, constant lateral movement, and punches fast twitch and full throttle.

He never rests in there, and he acts like a nervous fighter constantly.

Its impossible to stay fresh over 12 rounds that way. He has a big heart and is in terrific shape, but in every long fight he's been in, we've seen evidence of his legs weakening and his speed dampening. He just gets tired, probably a bit more so than most.

If he WASN"T in the shape he is in, he'd look horrible in the late rounds with that fighting style.

 

How good would you think his handspeed would be if he actually placed his punches instead of just firing away?

Anyone that has ever boxed before knows missing punches will take the energy out of you and Amir misses a lot.
