Wasn't insinuating Lewis wouldn't in fact win anyway, just laughing at the assertion the Tyson he fought in 2002 would be the exact same fighter, when in truth he was far too overweight, holding a grotesque amount of water, had minimal head movement, threw no combinations with nonexistant footwork; where Holmes is just a completely different animal. Truth is, both of them were. I just find it hypocritical.

 

Oops. I actually misread you before, TAC. Never mind. I get angry dyslexia when I'm arguing about Tyson. Especially this year when they've been downplaying him completely, even though it's his HOF year.

 

I would pick prime Ali, Foreman, Holmes and Lewis, all over prime Mike.

I like a 38 year old holmes is really good but a 37 year old lewis means retirement home.

 

he wasn't frustrating ****. he got decapitated in the 4th round (not the 9th or some****). larry didn't win a round but yes at least made segments of rounds competitive and when he started dancing in the 4th and actually tried to get a bit offensive he had a little success from range......until he was brutally knocked out

prime larry would obviously have done better, but tyson would catch him at some point. larry didn't have the power needed to really finish the job his jab would have done for a while. if he could survive, larry could win on points but remember that tyson piled on points too with speed and combos and agression (at his best) so that's no guarantee either


also, although 38 (and rusty) holmes was arguably beating the then top hw spinks less than 2 years prior. holmes was a little like hopkins, it's hard to tell when his actual prime was but obviously his physical gifts would have to be a bit faded at 38

 

Larry did not frustrate Mike one bit Larry looked scared Mike slipped all of Larrys punches it was only a matter of time until Mike caught up with Larry and it was lights out. i give credit to Larry for getting up after the first right hand that dropped him in the 4th round it was huge

A prime Holmes most likely beats Tyson. This version of Holmes that Tyson beat was about 50% of himself.

 

Holmes showed his much lauded jab was useless against a beast like Mike. He wasn't frustrating ****. Tyson beats any version of Holmes, legs or no legs. In his reign, against the best prime fighters he fought, Holmes couldn't beat a light heavyweight in two fights vs Spinks and a green Witherspoon gave him all he could handle. Holmes gets overrated alot.
