What exactly has Bob Arum done to get so much hate?

1. His power to influence judges in order to maintain a Top Rank fighter's high-profile status and protect big future paydays.

2. Round-robbin matchups between Top Rank fighters in order to keep the money in-house while preventing more significant matchups (with top fighters outside of his stable) from happening.

3. Careful matchmaking in order to Ride Out the Money Train for as long as he can.

Well, to be fair...that is what his job IS. You can't really hate him for doing his job...can you?

I think its more of him trying to sucker the fans...I understand that its a promoter's job is to sell a fight but dont try to insult the fans intellegence.

 

People hate Arum because he is a lying scumbag promoter. But at the same time those same people fail to name a single successful promoter who isn't a lying scumbag.

I understand the hate. I don't understand the death wishes. As if boxing will really improve when Arum dies. It will be exactly the same without Arum. Another top promoter will inherit his ways. Don King was the same. Oscar will one day be as bad as them.

 

The thing is Arum is the worse one. Don King was a slimier piece of **** than Arum was, but at least he brought us the fights we wanted to see
