IMO. The cuban fighter that had the best year was Richard Abril who is at the door of a WBA regular belt. Ironiclly he is promoted by a small but commited group (Dreamteam Team). Biggest news was Bob insinuating that cubans dont support their boxers because of race and no big names contradicting that statement.

Hope Luis Ortiz get a decent opponent soon. He is ranked in top 10 and need that experience . Like Abril, a member of Dream Team.

Yeah I just read it. I have always liked Franco, and think he belongs among our best boxers. I think he will definitely be World Champ in 2012 at 126 pounds. He doesn't fight like the typical Cubans, he is a very aggressive boxer who comes to fight. He has an iron chin but his punching power is not too good. Either way, what he lacks in KO power he makes up with speed, technique and amateur experience and he seems to be in the group of the " dedicated Cubans " and that's also a huge plus. He may not be on Gamboa's and Rigo's level but he will certainly leave his mark in the pro game. I wish him the best! ;)

I agree here. Abril surprised us all first by winning the Interim belt and now possibly becoming the regular Champion even if it's because Rios lost it at the scales. I didn't think much of Abril, hope he gets better and becomes a solid Champion. ;)

Team Gamboa has denied rumors of a fight against Rocky Juarez!!!

Boxing Scene says that Team Gamboa has denied rumors of a March fight against Rocky Juarez, which would have been a catchweight bout starting Gamboa’s move up from featherweight. So, I don't know what's going on. Why is it still on boxrec? Maybe cause it was going to be official and it dissolved...

I hope that fight won't happen, Juarez doesn't have anything for Yuriorkis. ;)

Maybe if they were more active we and they would be able to find out their level as boxers. They also need to be tested. Make or break it.
