Still at over 40 his physical gifts are among the best of all times. A candidate for GOAT, and more people will recognize it 10 years after his retirement (as is the case with all the greats)

Wlad won't make those lists because strong and endurable fighters have a chance of knocking him out, but the only way your going to beat Vitali is injuring him.

I think he could have trouble with fast "boxers"/"Movers".
But yes, he would definitely be competetive in any era..

Vitali is both mentally perfectly conditioned and disciplined in his approach and preparation. If you put him in a time machine and brought him to the 30s the fighters from that era would look like hobbyists next to him. Total mismatch.

Oldschool guys like Dempsey, Baer and yes Joe Louis would be dispatched with ease by Vitali and by any other modern day HW belt holder like Bowe, Lewis or Wlad.

Competitive most definitely. Would he beat some great names ? I don't think so.

Sonny Liston or George Foreman would both stop him but yeah I took the biggest punchers of the division here.

Poll is pretty comprehensive. Klitschko brothers not as hated here on ESB as you first imagined Joe?

I think its a no brainer that Vitali would hold his own in any era.
Were talking about a 6'8 highly fit man that can throw 70+ punches per round with mean intention, a master of range, monster chin and amazing timing.
I actually believe he is sort of a h2h nightmare matchup. (not the goat though by any means)

Add to that to this day there is no blueprint on how to fight him except hope for a fluke injury or cut.
If he was just some plodding strong giant it would be a different story but the man just does not drop any rounds vs anyone... so you are almost forced to try to stop him which so far seems nearly impossible.
He is also supremely confident and seems to win fights before they even get into the ring.

Liston was starched by Ali......Vitali would spark him quicker than he did Herbie Hide.

Foreman would be a tougher fight.......definitely going to the cards.:deal

Yes, TKO by doctor. Should have been fairly obvious without asking.

    As someone once said:

**** Vitali, he's lucky to be born and dominate a weak ass era; he won't survive 4 rounds against the awesome Willy "the duck" Meehan, and SuperFitz Fitzsimons.

170lbs of furry flabbiness going straight to knock his ass out.

 :patsch Sarcasm is beyond you, obviously.

Theres no such thing as INJ theres only TKO, RTD or KO

Vitali lost by TKO and RTD.

stop trying to take credit away from Byrd and Lewis for their legit wins.
