dumb for Peterson financially to not fight Khan?

I dislike Khan, and agree with the point deductions he did lose. Most people are saying to make Khan wait in line, go fights others, etc. I think this is a ******ed idea for Peterson.
Khan still brings the most $ to the table, and although I enjoyed Peterson's determination... Let's be honest... He will not hold that belt for very long. If he fights somebody at 140 who's name isn't Khan, he doesn't get the best possible $ (even Bradley wouldn't offer that much), and runs a huge chance of losing the belt.
If I were him I'd rematch for 50/50 this time, and even if I lose.. I'll make more $ rematching Khan than fighting probably 3 other 140 pound fighters while I have my belt.
Thoughts? Who can he fight that generates much $ at 140 anyway? Marquez and Bradley are the only two I could think of, but both probably beat him.

if he can make Amir desperate, Amir will end up giving up more ground

wasn't Amir so eager to get Tim Bradley that he tried offering some of the UK TV money too?

Khan's trainer Freddy Roach wants Peterson to fight Pacquiao next. I think he'll make a little more money with that fight and be able to keep his titles if he loses. He may even be able to command more money in the Khan rematch afterwards.

If Peterson was able to rematch and defeat Bradley. Well Amir would be forced to come back on bent knee and offer up a lot more.

Peterson is now a name and a promotional FA. I'm sure the Bobfather would gladly give him a fluffer for a nice payday (see Bradley-Casamayor) in order to secure him for a bigger fight later.

Peterson is in a good spot here and he's going to be rewarded no matter what direction he chooses.

Good points. However, I'm not so sure Peterson is much of a name at this point. He will get rewarded according to his current pay scale, but will he get rewarded on the top dog pay scale?

IMO, only if he rematches Khan.

Bradley received 1.025MM for Casamayor so something like 700-800k for an easy fight on a PPV undercard for Peterson is a reasonable expectation. Khan rematch right now would bring him somewhere in the 1-1.2 range.

Smart financial move would be to negotiate a two fight deal with an easy fight followed by Khan or Bradley later in the year.

Peterson should sign with Top Rank under the condition that he gets an immediate rematch clause with Khan with a promise of over a million dollars.

Peterson is in control of his own destiny at this point. He dont need Khan because Khan will come running whenever he calls. What he needs to do is hold them belts and the money will follow. He needs a knockout, a good boxing UD and a domination in that order, mixed in with a lot of hype and a 24/7. His payscale goes way up after that and he can get into some really big money weather he fights Khan, Bradley, or Marquez. First he should knock out Kasidis, do a 24/7 with Morales and then Maidina. I think he can get through that line up the way he needs to and rest is money money money.

Outside of Mayweather or Pac I'd guess Khan would probably be one of the biggest paydays for Peterson. Maybe take a softer fight in his first defense to make some money before riskng it against Khan wouldn't be a bad idea.

Peterson is in a great position right now, there are a ton of options from 135-147 that he can try to cash in on and not being tied to a promoter opens him up to all of them. I'd imagine he ends up facing Khan, maybe an easier defense first wouldn't be suprising. Khan has some monetary clout, a big promoter, and HBO would probably back it big as well.

    Not dumb...actually quite smart;)

Let Khan rebuild his name/position so that some of his old fans come back to him.

Defend the title yourself 2-3 times so that skeptics would have to admit you're actually a champ.

Both can thrash talk all this time.

Then rematch of reigning champ and 'new Khan who improved blah blah' would generate much more money than instant rematch given to the spoilt child Khan by 'guy who won title accidentally'.

I wouldnt give Khan a rematch for his arrogance and crying like a *****. accept the lose, train harder, correct mistakes, and own him. that's all you gotta do.

Uncle Bobby has plans for Peterson that do not include Khan. Khan made a serious business mistake when he and GB didn't think of the consequences of what could happen if he lost, since they never thought he would. Now Uncle Bobby will make them pay. Peterson and Bradley will get it on for title unification and a crack at Pac in the fall, of course Bobby think Bradley will win, and once again it all in the family.
