Floyd is a Hype Job in the sense that he's not as good as he appears on paper. Its all smoke and mirrors with Floyd Jr. these days! Pacquiao would expose the Hype Job! Prime Cotto would of exposed him, Martinez etc...
I'm expecting this fight to happen 2013-2014. The reason Arum has been relunctlent to match up Pacquiao (It's not like Pacquiao has been jumping for this fight either) with Mayweather, is because he knows boxing and knows that Pacquiao has no chance of being compitive with Mayweather. Arum would like nothing more than to "stick it" to Mayweather and De La Hoya (Mayweather's promotional partner.) Arum sees Chavez Jr. as the guy who can pull this off. This dose not mean Chavez beats Mayweather. We saw Chavez Jr. who is one of the most accurate punchers out there do more Boxing than fighting against Manferdo Jr. In his last bout. How often do you see boxers change their game after 40+ bouts? It happens but not a lot. Boxing not persuer is the way to beat Mayweather. For anyone who says "but what about about the Castilio fight" At best for Castillio that was a fluke. Arum knows that boxing is how to beat Mayweather. It's obivious that Arum has had Roach incorprate more boxing skills to Chavez's game. Unless Mayweather apeals and wins he will be in jail for at least two months and up to three monthes starting in January. He's not going to be fighting on May the fifth. If he was it would be against Saul Alvarez for Alvarez's WBC 154 championship. Other than Berto if he beats Ortiz in their rematch and Pacquiao who isn't going to fight Mayweather on his own accord. There is really nothing left at 147 for Maywwather. The Path to the fight. Mayweather returns to the ring in July or August against Alvarez. Mayweather takes a convincing decision to recapture the WBC 154 championship. Alvarez has beaten Mora going in. Chavez faces Rubio in March. Chavez uses his improved boxing skills to pass his touguest test to date. In July or August possibily raiviling The Mayweather/Alverez bout. Chavez will face Cotto. Cotto will have likely have beaten Martirosyan going into the fight. Cotto has over acheived throughout his career but Chavez is a young and improving boxer who stops the game Cotto late. In early 2013. Mayweather and Martinez face each other. Martinez will have beaten Macklin and posssibily Lee going in. Martinez's awarkward style gives Mayweather some trubble in the early going, but Mayweather takes control of the bout winning a decision. Early 2013 Chavez takes on Proksa who has been taking Europe by storm. Chavez takes a decision win. Mid/late 2013 Arum belives he has his guy to beat Mayweather and De La Hoya. Mayweather takes the fight because Chavez has name reconition and it will be an easier fight than Quillin and Lara. Who are the two best Golden Boy boxers. (Quillin and Lara will fight each other on the undercard). The result. Arum miscaculates Mayweather out boxes Chavez for a decision win to become the WBC 160 champion. What happens next? Mayweather faces and beats Quillin who beat Lara than retires. Chavez has a cupple of tune up fight before returning to the championship level. He'll never be his father but he will regaing a championship at 160 and possibily 168 and 175 before he retires 10-15 years latter.
No I'd rather see: Pacquiao Sergio Alvarez Cotto JMM II Bradley Maidana/Alexander winner Ortiz/Berto II winner Senchencko P. Williams Kirkland
it wouldn't suprise me if mayweather comes out with some bull**** like this in a couple of weeks time
ummm you forget chavez jr is a arum fighter? Floyd won't ever fight a top rank guy while arum is alive.....
If you value Jr.'s belt, maybe....but , sadly would not even be a close fight. Floyd schools Chavez & Martinez, which both would make for big fights. Cotto might have a better shot at getting Floyd at 154, where Floyd is clearly favored....Floyd is kinda like the Klit bros., ...hard to find a good opponent. Clearly, Floyd schools Pac so I would think Floyd would just wait for him later next year, then go up in weight to take light-middle and middle. If Chavez is still undefeated at that point, I would support it. Wouldn't be a bad way to go out: Pac, Cotto, Martinez, Chavez Jr. (I think he'll skip over Alvarez...ouch!)
Dude, Pac don't have a prayer against Floyd. I'm just talking boxing, not the ***** ******* rarara ****.
