I've always liked Paul Williams to be honest. Certainly don't see any reason to call him a **** but that's just my opinion of course.

    ^^ Agreed

He's a bit dumb but I've never seen any evidence of 'a sense of entitlement'.

Plus, he's got an entertaining style.

I see exactly what DFT is on about here. Williams always seemed to think he was being avoided or ducked. It may have been the case, but he seemed to think he was the man that everyone should've had their sights on.

For the other reasons DFT mentioned (as well as his freakish attributes) that wasn't the case.

I will say that I'm not sure he's one of these guys who just threw to win rounds. He kept throwing because he could, and more often than not it overwhelmed his opponents, until Quintana, Sergio and Lara showed that even though Williams was not that effective a southpaw, his southpaw stance definitely caused more trouble to orthodox fighters coupled with his engine, durability and punch output.

I liked his attitude as well. Didn't seem to be going after belts in other divisions, was just willing to fight anywhere between 147 and 160 just to get fights.

Despite being inactive aand past his best Winky has never been dominated the way Williams did. A good win IMO.

Paul Williams has always been a fairly honest fighter. I'm not seeing where all this hate comes from, though I suppose you could criticise any fighter in the same way if you wanted to.

Almost every fighter gets hate in some capacity, it's just how the cookie crumbles.

At least PW admitted he got a gift last time out and all the "most avoided" crap came from his promoter.

No he didn't. He thinks he won.

I like Williams, he comes to fight and he'll fight the best but he should have rematched Cintron and Lara.

I agree rematching Lara but **** Cintron, guy wants to dive onto a table lay then then slide off and then say he can't continue. I wouldn't wanna bother training to fight someone who does that crap.

BTW Achilles is right Scotty, i watched interview other week funnily enough and he says he won. Paul must be catching that delusion from his **** for brains trainer.

In all fairness have you ever seen a fighter publicly admit that he won a fight when he clearly lost, but gets the decision? Off the top of my head I cant. After Mosley got that second controversial win over De La Hoya, he claimed he won to :conf

It's Williams' promoter who's a ****. They really wanted to avoid a Martinez rematch.
