How Come Calzaghe Never fought Pavlik? Who Would Win If They Fought?

Calzaghe was coming to the end of his career and wanted to cash out, Jones and Hopkins were bigger names than Pavlik and bigger names = bigger money

the Hopkins fight proved who would have won the fight though, Pavlik was a hype machine just like Lacy was

 

Lacy was a hype job, young and strong but one dimentional. It was only the Calzaghe hype machine that wanted to make him out to be more than he was. Yea, there were some that thought Lacy could do it due to his strength, but it wasn't the first fight were he was hit at will and the signs were there. Good win for Joe, but are you saying that makes him an ATG? Joe in no way dominated Kessler, someone who by all intents and purposes won the first half of their fight, you're saying that makes him an ATG? You mean the 20 defences in a weak era of SMW's where Calzaghe pretty much never left the Isle of Brittain, that makes him an ATG?

Corrupt referee and 3 american judges? How the **** was ref corrupt? Everything was against Calzaghe even though he has some of THE WORST stoppages in boxing history to pad his TKO record. Wrong. The ones hyping Lacy were Americans and American boxing 'experts', many of them at the same time had little respect for Calzaghe. Go dig up some old web pages on every boxing site and see what American writers had to say before this fight. Can't hold it against Joe for putting on a masterclass and proving all you fools wrong. I actually remember an article where the writer brought up Lacy's Olympic loss in Sydney, Australia, against Gaidarbekov in the quarterfinal of the 2000 Olympics where he was beaten in much the same fashion as he would be against Calzaghe, they had to stop it cause the score was like 16-1. But I agree, the loudest articles were about lacey being too strong. But there were differing opinions.
