For the time beeing the yanks have taken over the SMW. Thats just the way it is. Froch and Kessler have already been written out of the plot. Bute is too soft to deal with Ward, and if Direll dont fall apart again even he could be too much for the Canadian house wife hero.

MichiganWarrior is just a bit over excited because Ward has been able to feast on Calzaghes leftovers.
America hasnt had a SMW that has been able to compete at the top European level for a while. The hype was the same for B Mitchell before he faced the best of Europe, same again for Lacy, he beat R Reid and America went mad thinking he could compete at the top level against Calzaghe. Same again now with Ward, Americans think that because he has beaten a limited Froch (a fighter who hasnt beaten one top SMW other than faded Reid) that Ward can compete with Bute.
The division is at a very weak time at the moment and Ward might be able to capitalise.
Still Wards team have learned a lesson after Ward was given a lucky decision against D Boone, in that they know not to let Ward travel and fight Europe in a big fight, thats where American SMWs tend to crumble.

What dont you grasp. There are weight limits and if a fighter comes in over that weight division, they are in the division above (except for HW).
Now a bout may be sanctioned for a division but if its not for a title it wont be held against them if they are a bit over as long as one fighter isnt, but they are both supposed to be in that limit, if they are not they are above and one of the fighters will have to be in that limit.
Now do you think they would allow a world SMW title fight at 170lbs Dummy? Of course not, the fighters would be at LHW if they weighed that much. Many fighters have lost titles on the scales due to being overweight. Rios/Murray is an example of a fight being sanctioned at a weight but one fighter weighing in above and not being on the limit.
