Did Hopkins losses to Taylor help him build a better legacy?

It's a real shame Roy didn't just call it quits then, yeah. He should have retired anytime from the point of the Ruiz fight to the Johnson loss. I remember him popping up in one of The Matrix sequels - surely he could have continued to make cameos in films while continuing with his commentary gig? I know neither pay as well as boxing. Just a shame he didn't retire, or wasn't in a position to.

I can't see B-Hop going the same way though. He seems to have a good business head on him, and has said there are areas of GBP he wants to work on when he retires. I think it may have been a recent Ring Magazine issue, but I think he said he doesn't want to be a promoter as such, but wants to be involved in other capacities. Hope he continues to feature on Friday Night Fights sporadically too.

 

Would have loved an Abraham or Sturm fight, shame the Ring champs never managed to get in the ring with them

I was thinking about this the other day. If he had of got the decision against Taylor people would have still said he has beaten nobody the division is weak etc. People forget the people he beat at MW some of them would have been champs if it wasnt for him. People dont say **** about Hagler dominating MW division and still look at him as an ATG. He would of beat Abraham easy Imo not sure about the other 2. But if he had of won all 3 his legacy would have been better than it currently is imo.

What I always think about is what if he had of took off some muscle and made it to 160 to fight Pavlik, could you imagine regaining the middleweight throne at 43?
