pay per view has ruined the sport. its made bull**** orgs, paper champs, rankings, etc. money has driven everything.
Two things to consider: 1) sometimes the loss is bogus i.e. Hopkins v taylor 1, chisora v helenius, marquez v pac 3 etc. In cases like this, the official result shouldn't impede a fighters immediate progress. 2) a fighter can lose competitively and hence not drop in the rankings i.e. Berto v ortiz, johnson v froch, froch v ward etc. In cases like this, despite losing the opponent can still be the highest ranked available opponent. If you take bute v johnson and now v froch, there's no better options available to him so he shouldn't be chasing a lesser fight just because a man lost. Afterall if number 7 fights number 1, you'd expect number 7 to lose and he should be praised for taking the fight rather than punished for losing to someone better than him.
Well imo it was brilliant that Vitali has given Chisora a title shot and put up a massive middle finger to Saurland.
Jermain Taylor fought for 4 in a row and was offered a 5th in a row (the kessler fight) which is the record
Chisora against Vitali coming up I don't mind it at all, in fact I think its a good thing in some cases
His draw with byrd was a deserved result imo. He clearly beat ruiz tho so the brewster match was well deserved. This is quite a poor example actually :-(
The Shane Mosley pacman fight was terrible, a loss and a draw then fights pacman cherry picking at its best
It was a robbery. This doesn't mean the people are dumb enough to say "But they registered a loss!". I guess Chavez-Whitaker is definitely a draw because the record books say so, huh?
